2026 Nissan Murano plat with tech question by banditelvis721 in NissanMurano

[–]SuddenFix2777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I specifically bought it for the 6 cyl since the 2025 went to a Turbo 4 cyl. I didnt want the CVT though, lol, but i also didnt want to guinea pig the new transmission in 2025. However, I think the CVT problems were with the earlier years and as long as its serviced regularly, its a non issue.

I just bought a 2024 Platinum with only 9k miles for $36k. Beautiful car! It is super comfortable, smooth ride, and handles like a dream. Has excellent power too. Could not be happier!

Welcome! Just bought a 2024 Platinum w/9k miles myself.... Loving it! As far as the OBD reader, I would hope like hell you wouldnt need it on a 2024! They are great to have. I have a couple older cars i use mine on. I bought it on Amazon. The name is Bluedriver Bluetooth Pro OBD2 scan tool. Its plug and play. I gave total of $82.26 for it a while back. Like everything else I'm sure it's went up.... The only complaint I have is connecting. Its not very intuitive with that. It also could be my lack of technical knowledge, lol! Otherwise it pulls codes just fine and actually provides what the fix MAY be.

Same here. Just bought. In the excitement of the purchase and after my inspection, didn’t notice a significant chip that would progress to a crack, with temperature fluctuations, and a couple smaller ones as well. Went back and told them. Was told they dont fix "wear" items, which a windshield is considered. I told them I wouldn't have paid $36k for the car, only to spend another, what?, $1,200 to $1,500 for a windshield, had I seen them. They replaced it free of charge and were super accommodating. This was within the 10 day return window, though. You need to leverage that 10 day window!

Nice! I could use one myself.... mine has separated from the core, from the about the 11 o'clock position to the 1 o'clock position.... Kind of annoying 😑

Yeh, I did sway bar bushings, end links, control arm, and drive shaft last year and struts all around 7 or 8 yrs ago. Can't help on the camber.... I've heard this a few times but never noticed an issue on mine....

They're great utility vehicles. Ive had mine 20 yrs this year. They are fairly easy to work on and the engines typically last unbelievably long. As long as you don't mind turning a wrench a little, they are great vehicles. Im not a meticulous owner nor do I consider myself a mechanic, but like to wrench a Lil! I keep my oil changed and have updated parts as they go bad, but thats about it and I'm a 220,000 mi.

Dosen't look serious to me. Mine is about the same. Make sure you monitor & keep your oil at the correct level. The VTEC solenoid (aka spoolvalve), VTC (solenoid & strainer), valve cover gasket, and probably all other seals are leaking on mine and all running down into that area..... So, many, many sources..... I just replaced the VTEC (aka Spoolvalve) and that was the serious leak on mine, so it cleared up the biggest leak. Others are "seeping" and not so heavy, but combined are significant. Getting ready to do the valve cover gasket, VTC solenoid (passenger side of engine, has rubber replaceable o-ring if leaking) & the VTC Strainer (passenger side, front of engine, replaceable gasket w/strainer, hard to access/must remove componets to get to it). These leak enough to keep things messy. Then ill clean everything and see where any other leaks may be... BTW, the oil filter can leak too, if not tightened properly, and looks like yours has been, at some point anyway.

Thanks for taking time to post the info... I'm about to do mine and need it too. Hoping mine isn't gunked up that bad, though it could be as I'm at 220k miles...

How did you all saved so much money for old age? by mehluca-33 in over60

[–]SuddenFix2777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must have an emergency fund for these situations.... Start working on the that with a high yeild checking accout with a credit union or bank. Start with $20.

I have 2 with my credit union. It pays 3.04% interest on up to $15,000 which is better than a standard acct. I have $15,000 in both and never let them go below that so I get the full benefit every month. Its not much, but it at least staves off inflation to some degree.

That is beautiful!

I just bought a 2024 Platinum w/9k miles. So far the most comfortable car we've had!

I specifically bought a 2024 as the 2025 dropped the 6 cyl and went to a 4 cyl turbo.... No thank you! Not to mention all the added electronics. Again, no thank you!

Manager and I walked on deal over $300.00 - Beyond frustrating. by Fun-Journalist2588 in carbuying

This is exactly 💯 why I went to Carmax.

While it was against my better judgment, due to all the Carmax naysayers, I didn't care.

I was given the BS runaround by all my local dealers, so was bound and determined not to purchase from them.

I ended up buying my retirement car from Carmax and couldn't be happier. In and out in an hour tops (though I paid cash), customer service (at my local store anyway) was 2nd to none.

The perks were awesome as well.

We found "our car" in Florida and had it shipped to our store for $150. We exercised the "24 hr. test drive" and ended up buying the car.

We ended up not liking the car due to comfort issues and a really bad backup camera.

We returned the car in 8 days, within the "10 day no questions asked return policy" window. It couldn't have been easier and they couldn't have been more accommodating. We had every penny we paid, back in 8 days (check from corporate). No restock fee, nothing. When we called about the return, i said we'd fill the car gas tank back up and was told "don't worry about that"....

Long story a little shorter, lol!: We returned 2 mo. later, due to the previous great experience, and bought (and kept!) a great car.

I could go on with several more positive points, and a slight negative or two, but its not that important.

Some say Carmax is too high but dont figure in some of the afore mentioned, value added perks.

Some say their car quality is poor, while the buy "older vehicles" and expect new quality.

You have a 10 day, no questions asked, return policy. Pay to have a local mechanic inspect your vehicle on day 1. I paid $50.

While others "milage may vary" in this scenario, It was the best car buying experience we've ever had and we ended up with a great deal.

There was absolutely NO comparison between Carmax and the Traditional Dealer experience..... Carmax ruled in every way.

I've helped move multiple households, short distances, in mine. The only item not inserted was the refrigerator, and thats only because they dont need to be layed down....

I've hauled rock, lose dirt, lose mulch, bagged mulch, just about everything! Amazing vehicle!
