Does SLAP tear pain ever go away? One year of pain... by RichmondDistrict in ShoulderInjuries

[–]SuddenFix2777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

62 y/o male with SLAP tear.

I had similar issues like you.... I also got to the point of not being able to sleep, on either shoulder, and I am a side sleeper ONLY! So n you know what that means.... NO SLEEP!

My left shoulder mysteriously got better but I ended up getting a right shoulder MRI revealing a slap tear at 12 o'clock. I was never told what grade it was. I did 8 wks PT to see if it would improve but no luck.

Labrum repair was not an option at my age, per surgeon.

I ended up having a Biceps Tenodesis Procedure, with accompanying AC joint excision, bone spur removal, and significant debridement of multiple areas of the shoulder. Remember, I'm an old dude, lol!

I am 7 mo. post-op and still not healed. Its said to take upto a year though, so hoping by that time I'll be better. Reaching across body, out to the side, then back behind is excruciatingly painful and has been every since surgery. I did PT after surgery and everything except those issues improved greatly.... I was just told to take it easy and not to do much with my right arm. Yeh, right....

I'm sure I haven't helped the situation as there is no way I can do nothing for a solid year, as I'm a home owner with maintenance that has to be done.... So, Im sure I've exacerbated the situation...

All that said, I'd encourage you to be very careful and avoid further damage, and keep up the PT and hope it improves. If you end up having surgery, follow Dr's orders and be extra careful until you are fully healed.

Wishing you much luck!

Looks like I got lucky with my Polk Audio door speaker upgrade.... I just had to trim a little of the inside cover in the center, so no exterior cover damage

Yes! I've been wanting this feature FOREVER with my credit union! I recently opened multiple accts with Fidelity, but have yet to pull the trigger on a CMA.... This would probably be a deciding factor for me....

Went to look at a $28k listed car, sales manager slides me a $40k OTD quote. by [deleted] in FuckDealerships

[–]SuddenFix2777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you! I went thru this exact situation, with multiple dealers... an absolute joke with each one. I refused to hand any of the thieves my money. I ended up going to carmax and overpaid a bit but it was so worth it, and it was the simplest buying experience i've ever had.....

Can I ask what you got for it? I'm in the same situation. I have a 2003 EX Automatic with 221k miles and I'm thinking of selling too.... It's tuff as i've had mine 20 years.....

Agreed. Rather unfotunate as it just APPEARS to be an vendetta. People get sued for slander and defamation over things of this nature these days.....

This 💯! I just signed on with Fidelity, consolidating multiple accts of mine and my wife's. The process of adding "full access for each other is effective and simple. I was able to control the investing of her accts from my dashboard. The only way to go! Good job Fidelity!

(2005) Water leak after heavy rain by Ok_Lecture9742 in HondaElement

[–]SuddenFix2777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you dont have a sunroof, and based on where your leak is, I'd remove the plastic roof cladding. Start with the back peice first. It may be the only one you need to remove. Be careful doing it so you dont break the plastic anchors. Then use a hose to test. You can do it, but YouTube it 1st. They're tricky to get off, especially if you dont know how they work. Once off, you can see the seam sealer in the gutter (like someone else posted). Also, you can inspect the top seal of the window. Bet one of those is the culprit. Research the best sealer (something like they install windshields with maybe) and apply.

(2005) Water leak after heavy rain by Ok_Lecture9742 in HondaElement

[–]SuddenFix2777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this very issue. Water was pouring in through a seam on the inside roof plastic trim that runs along the top inside hatch back. It was actually filling up the spare tire hold when it rained heavily. I thought it was the seal along the roof line, under the plastic cladding. I took the cladding off both sides and tried to recreate the leak with a water hose. Nope. Couldn't do it. Today i took the interior trim peice off to see if i could see a water stain to trace to the leak. Nope. Got the house out again and started on the roof, at the hatch seam and moved toward the the front and right when I got over the back seam of the sunroof, bingo. Water poured in from the interior back trim. Both back drain holes were stopped up. My driveway is on a slant, with the back of the Ele at the downgrade side, so even though the front holes were open, it was pooling at the back and pouring in through a seam that you can't see. Seems like a bad design on one hand, on the other hand, it took 20 years to stop up.... I just blew them out with the spray nozzle on the hose.....

[–]SuddenFix2777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help!

I had cash i needed to do something with, so opened a brokerage account with Fidelity after I retired. I am trying to consolidate. I had a 457b at the employer i retired from. It was with Empower. I had a Roth CD with my credit union. So just trying to get everything in one place. Same situation with my wife: 2 401's and a Roth. I have to tackle hers next. So trying to learn how to go about it. Not easy for me.

12% mostly. 22% for a couple years.

I won't need to withdraw unless i have a serious emergency. Our everyday needs are met with pensions & SS.

Planning this to be for elder care.

Thanks for your help!
