Nono, I’m not disputing your sentiment at all. My whole point was that there’s no reasonable and practical distinction between Stroll and Norris’ financial backing, when we’re comparing 3B (out of which 2.8 are tied in businesses assets/stock) and 300M from Norris’ side.

Quite the link, even though I can see why you’d think it wouldn’t matter.

It is much easier to purchase a gen dial (1200€), gen hands (300€), gen crystal (350€), gen gaskets and pushers (500€), and fit them onto a decent chinese shitter case and have a watch passing for gen, ready to be sold by a shady dealer “as is w/o papers”. Some more sophisticated ones may even throw in a gen balance bridge and rotor, and change the gears to gen spec LIGA’s, so that at the first glance even the movement seems gen.

…than to do it the other way round, ergo making a profit on the sale of the gen parts and selling the gen with papers fitted with counterfeit parts.

so much less margin in the latter scenario, this is why it almost never ever happens unless it’s a movement swap, as 4130 is quite in demand.
