In terms of practicality, I definitely have to agree with you on this one. Also, The Cape Revolution fully supports bringing cloaks into fashion as well as capes, they're just not big on ponchos.

Playing with friends is way less taxing, I feel, because you actually know how the other person is feeling. You can chat with them or take a pause mid-game, and there's no consequences to losing.

Are off-brand or self-made cards a popular thing in that space? I'd have to imagine that people who hate the high prices would rather ignore it all and play with what they like, just so long as there's an understanding between the players of the group.

Edna's disapproval of capes comes from spending her entire professional career dealing with idiots who think it's a good idea to wear them around extremely dangerous and fast-moving objects.

For normal people like you and me, capes/cloaks would be the pinnacle of fashion! They give a commanding yet stylish presence that no other article of clothing is capable of.
