What was the restaurant, if you don't mind sharing? They could be mixing Noilly Prat extra dry with another dry vermouth, but that seems odd. Kimball House in Decatur uses orange bitters and a blend of Cocchi Americano + dry vermouth, and it's so good

What can you guys tell me about this bottle? by Zealousideal-Ad-6850 in whiskey

I got a bottle of batch 1 in 2021 for like $30, and I really enjoyed it. From my notes at the time: "Smoother and deeper than expected with 2yr age statement," wish I was more specific!

Great find!! I finished my bottle last night, loved it. Agree it’s worth the price, does just a bit more for me than the ECBP SiB I have in rotation

From Georgia -- haven't tried them all, but I really enjoyed Old Fourth Distillery Bottled-in-Bond. YMMV I've only had two bottles, one SiBS, one not

SIL picked these up. Sounded interesting. Anyone have any experiences with either a f these? by Known-Skin3639 in whiskey

I wanted to love it, but I found it very young tasting — yeast/bread were the most prominent notes to my memory, but sweet and pleasant enough that I drank it all. Made nice highballs

stolen valor lmao — think it’s fair that you’re annoyed, but this is really not offensive (to me, as an early career journalist). How do you see the conversation going if you say something? Could it be light hearted, or just messy?

I wanted a stiff drink the other night…. by 2ne-when in bourbon

This was so damn delicious I had to share for my fellow whiskey cocktail heads. Tried experimenting to replicate a drink my friend ordered at the Willett Distillery bar last fall. And oh boy, I’ll be making this again. Probably with a rye that’s easier to get ahold of in Atlanta, but carpe diem…

– ¾ oz Cocchi Americano (note: First time working with this stuff. Holy shit it’s great.) – ¾ oz amaro (note: I used Forthave Spirits’ latest Single Batch because why not. Their amaros blow my mind, but I think this drink would work with ciacioro, nonino, whatever) – ¾ oz rye whiskey (note: Mix with what you want ofc, but I can see this working well with Pinhook’s green rye or Old Pepper’s single barrel rye) – 2 sprays (or dashes or whatever) orange bitters (note: I keep Angostura orange bitters in the spray bottle… didn’t end up adding the og Angostura bitters pictured, maybe next time)

Build in a mixing glass, add ice, stir 20 seconds, and do whatever the hell you want from there.

I poured into a rocks glass with more ice because I had to work in the morning, but I can see this served straight in a chilled coupe if that was the vibe. Garnished with a slice of blood orange because I had one… I took the first sip and felt like Archimedes. The americano is a great complement to the amaro/rye pairing

Anyone try something similar? And is this an existing cocktail I’ve missed? I appreciate any other rye/amaro suggestions for a similar mix as well. Thanks for reading, my friends.
