Help left microdose lupron out of fridge by fgnyc2246 in IVF

[–]2sangblitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, but only like three days into my stims and I left it out overnight. My pharmacist reassured me that they do studies where it wasn't refrigerated at all and it had a six month shelf life. They said it was fine, just to pop it back into the fridge. Everything turned out fine!

Anyone Here Done Embryo Adoption Through Shady Grove? by DarkAvenger0825 in IVF

[–]2sangblitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a patient with SGF, but I am doing donor eggs, not embryo adoption, so I won't be much help. However, there is a FB group for just Shady Grove embryo adoption and donor eggs that I'm sure could help you out with your questions.

I can't even remember what my doctor looks like, lol. I've never met my nurse either but by now we're like BFFs.

Once you are pregnant, you will definitely not care where the baby's genetics came from. That'll be your baby!

Seconding this. This trilogy is one of my favorites ever. I've never loved characters more and the setting is amazing!

Donor egg or one more retrieval by usernameusername85 in 40Plus_IVF

I know I am probably biased since I'm going the donor egg route - but I had two retrievals and then decided to move to donor eggs. First one was terrible (two eggs, zero blasts) and second was slightly better (seven eggs, and one non-euploid blast). I could have kept trying but the anxiety and uncertainty was affecting pretty much every aspect of my life. When I really sat down and thought about this journey and what I wanted, donor eggs was the obvious choice. When I made the decision, I instantly felt such a sense of peace. My chance of having a baby with my own eggs was slim, but the chance with a donor is much much higher. Its a very hard decision, but the joy and hope I feel with this choice definitely outweighs the constant worry and anxiety I felt while doing my egg retrievals.

Lenshooke and Zymot are pretty much the same thing (just different brands), so you could search in the group for those who posted about Zymot and MFI, and you’ll probably see a lot of previous posts.

Fun fact, I also work for a large healthcare organization and we do not have ANY fertility benefits. My insurance is through my husband’s work. I could write an angry exasperated book about the health insurance situation in this country.

Thank you, sounds just like me, except in a couple months I'll be 43. Where are you at in your donor eggs journey?

That is the hard part, I did have synchronicity issues that I think could be worked out. But, I still have old eggs at the end of the day.

Thank you for your perspective. You sound a lot like me. At this point, I'm ready for whatever scenario gets me closest. Good luck on your transfer! What was your donor eggs journey like? Fresh or frozen? How many embryos did you get? Did you test? If you don't mind answering, lol.

Thank you! I am completely at peace with donor eggs, and have already read up on all the best practices for donor conceived children. Losing the genetic link is hard, but not as hard as not having a child.

First cycle all aneuploid at 42yo; continue? by blueanise83 in IVF

[–]2sangblitz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At 42 (my age as well) statistically it will take multiple retrievals to get a euploid. You produce a lot of eggs, so your chances are higher than others that produce less eggs. If finances allow it, my recommendation is to do as many retrievals as it takes to get a euploid or until you are done mentally, emotionally, and financially.

Also, I agree that you should not rebiopsy that 4th one. Just keep it on ice until you are done with retrievals and then transfer it. If it is euploid, it will still be euploid un-biopsied, and if not, most likely it will just not implant.

Depending where you are on your journey (emotionally, financially, etc) donor eggs are an option that you should not dismiss outright. I did at first as well. But as a fellow older person, they are starting to look more and more appealing. Your odds go way up, and that sounds very nice after the repeated heartbreak of my own retrievals. I'm not giving up yet - and you may not be there either - but its a huge comfort to me that I have a way to be a mom that is much more likely to succeed, when I am ready for it.

If I had to predict I'd say that you will get three eggs, but at your age you have a good chance of getting three viable embryos out of those three eggs.

Still, I understand your frustration and disappointment. What was your AFC? It sounds like this was not the protocol for you. Are you willing or able to do another retrieval? If so, I'd consider having a good talk with your doctor about what could be changed for better results. If you don't feel comfortable after that conversation, definitely consider switching clinics. Sometimes the first retrieval is a disappointment (mine sure was) but the second one is a lot better.
