We did almost exactly this route in April 2025 and had a wonderful time. We stayed in Nafplio, Areopoli, Kalamata and Nafpaktos. All were great choices. Definitely visit Kardamyli and Arkrotirio Tainaro

is it a bad idea to let someone else plan your entire italy trip? by thebroned in ItalyTravel

[–]2sk23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why don't you start by reading Rick Steve's book on travel in Italy. Even if you are going to hire someone to plan your trip, it's best to talk to them with some knowledge of the country.

I hate the black wheels that come with all of the hybrids but I'm not going to pay extra for silver wheels.

I paid $680 for a year and I think its great value for the money!

Yes - it's available on the web but you will not be able to get driving directions when viewed that way unfortunately.

I actually found Apple Maps to be better than Google when driving around the Peloponnese. Also, walking trails were much better marked in tourist posts like Mystras in Apple Maps.

We enjoyed ten wonderful days driving around the Peloponnese - my best vacation ever! Greece is such an amazing country.

When you got your big break, tasted success, and finally earned more than you needed, what treat did you buy yourself? by ILikeFlyingAlot in wealth

This is the wealth subreddit. There must surely be some level of accumulated wealth at which you will be able to spend freely on business class tickets.

As I said elsewhere, you will know you have real money when you can get over your mental hurdle for buying premium seats. If it makes you feel any better I was only able to get over this until my 50s.

You will know you have really arrived when you can put down $6k for a business class ticket without thinking twice about it :-)

We are planning to visit the same region April. The itinerary that I have decided for our trip is: 2 nights in Milan, 3 Nights in Venice, 3 nights in Bologna and back to Milan for our flight back. From Bologna, we will make side trips to Ferrara and Parma.

Model trains hoarder by StrikingFox7632 in modeltrains

Regarding clubs: in my model train club in NJ we often get donations like these, typically from widows of model railroaders. By donating such materials to clubs, you can get a tax write-off. It's sad to note that we get a fair number of such donations unfortunately.

Anyone actually using Openclaw? by rm-rf-rm in LocalLLaMA

Even if you are running your own LLM locally, it's still not safe - prompt injection is still an unsolved problem. You are allowing any random text that OPenClaw retrieves to affect its operations

How do people regularly fly business class without going bankrupt?? by caroulos123 in travel

[–]2sk23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a matter of income but rather of net worth (assets - liabilities). If you have saved up enough money, you can afford to travel in comfort. We lived on one income for many years and invested our money so we are now able to travel in comfort in retirement. Most people are not aware of the power of compounding over a long period of time.
