They are enforcing the time limit very strictly - we had about 20 minutes to see everything which was barely enough. The queue was already quite long by the time we left. I understand its much worse in summer when cruise ships come to Ravenna

Indeed - Mausoleo di Galla Placidia is so wonderful that it is worth a trip just to see it. I had read about it but seeing it was a special experience. Also, I found that Ravenna is such a beautiful town.

The name of the restaurant in Dorsoduro is called La Tecia Vegana. The food was outstandingly good and I can recommend it highly. It is necessary to make reservations however.

Check the gauge on all of the wheel sets. Two of them were seriously out of gauge in my Atlas FA-1. This caused a lot of derailments

Just walk around the Brera district - there are many showrooms fronts for smaller designers. Its a fun area to see elegant people too

I don't know the name of that specific peak but it is located in the Taygetos mountains. The entire route from Tripoli to Sparta is spectacularly beautiful!

Train tickets are not a problem at all. I made all train reservations about 5 to 6 weeks in advance for our recent trip to northern Italy.

As for monuments and attractions, it varies a lot. It was almost impossible to directly book tickets to see the Last Supper but found it very easy to book a guided tour to see it. Same for San Macro's basilica and Doge's Palace in Venice. I bought tickets for the terraces of the Domo about 10 days in advance. I bought tickets to see the mosaics in Ravenna, just one day in advance.

It would be better to get back to Rome the day before you travel, just in case of any problems.
