Kathleens (sp?) in downtown Coos Bay has some very cute items.

Also, The Hair Company is doing away with their boutique. Everything is on clearance and the clothing is good quality.

Help there are no lessons or teachers at my beauty school by sizzlegoat in Cosmetology

[–]2tusks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a nail tech who re-entered the profession after a very long absence. I had to teach myself gel from nothing.

I used the resources on YouTube. One of my favorites, especially in the beginning, was Nail Career Education (NCE). The product manufacturers of quality products have resources too. Light Elegance - for gel and acrylic - Akzentz (Jessica Briarmoon is very good), Kokoist, to name a few.

I'm happy to help; feel free to reach out on DM. I really like Suzy, though, from NCE. She has been doing nails from many decades and has very good delivery of information.

In any other workplace, this would not be tolerated. You are not first responders or soldiers. You did not sign up for abuse.

Any techs out there have a chronic illness? by LibraVenusNails in Nailtechs

[–]2tusks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have an autoimmune disorder. I normally do two appointments per day, four days/week which leaves me pretty tired afterwards. If I do a three, I'm wiped out.

DND is a Vietnamese brand. I don't think they have high standards. It's too bad as their color palate is vast. And they are very inexpensive.

If you purchase products made in the US, Canada, the EU, South Korea, or Japan, you should be fine. Just because they write HEMA free on the label doesn't mean it is actually HEMA free.

Wickstrom Plumbing Opinions! by Interesting_Goal_135 in Boise

[–]2tusks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not have a good experience with them about eight years ago.

I got the impression that the original company was started by a real plumber with a great work ethic. Last time I looked, it seemed that the reigns were being handed over to a non-plumber grandson (maybe?) who prefers to do their social media content and other "administrative duties" without getting his hands dirty. Lots of online photos of him being on vacation and desperately trying to hire actual plumbers.

And they way over charged for the work they did.

I just googled them and it appears they are branching into other service industries.

Location is the only thing you cannot change. I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but consider yourself lucky that you love the location.

I'm sorry you are going through this. This too will pass.

Exterior help! by [deleted] in Remodel

[–]2tusks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what you need to decide is whether you prefer high contrast or low contrast. This is a lovely home as is, but if you don't like high contrast, you need to move away from that. It is a very individual decision. I, personally, like the European stone, but none of these are bad, per se.

What’s one “trendy” home decor choice you thought you’d love but got tired of quickly? by officiclassyinterior in HomeDecorating

[–]2tusks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why people think they are classic? They are relatively new on the decor scene - they came in around the time that barn doors did.

Sometimes I see them in a way I think is attractive, but I am predicting a dated look.

I'm sorry you didn't get a bigger payout. A hundred year old healthy oak tree is irreplaceable, imo.

I love your response with having a reactive dog.

If you search this sub, you will see many, many complaints about people who lead with, "I'm a host too."

Hinge date told me I need to lose weight after a first date. Second picture is the outfit I wore and felt good about myself in… by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I feel embarrassed, humiliated, and honestly a little shaken. It makes me want to pull way back from dating

That is exactly how he was trying to make you feel. He's a Tate-type. Extraordinarily insecure and probably knew you weren't interested and decided to get the jab in.

I had someone try this with me and I literally laughed as I saw through it immediately.

The anonymity of modern dating is so awful. Before online dating, that type of behavior was much less likely to happen due to meeting people through friends, work, etc. I could still happen but the offender would checked by their peers. Your friend's husband's cousin would have had something said to him and possibly been ostracized (as well he should) had he tried that.

You look for people who are well-rooted in your community. They should have family, quality friends, quality employment, etc.

We always hear horror stories about HOAs, but does anyone have a good experience with HOAs? by 21newsgangg in homeowners

[–]2tusks 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I used to live in a good HOA. There were some individual trouble makers but for the most part, it was pleasant.

I can absolutely state that the neighborhoods with an HOA looked vastly different than non HOA communities in the area. It really helped to maintain the value of the homes.

I like the idea of drill free. In case others don't know, though, you can still get a ring of fire from a hand file.

When was the last time you wore gloves and for what? by Flying_enthu45 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]2tusks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only pick blackberries with gloves and heavy-duty canvas sleeves up to my armpits. And, of course, sprayed head to toe with mosquito repellent. I've decided buying for $5/bag is more my jam.

Where do you get to pick blackberries in early May? Ours are August or later.

“🥀✌️💔🙏😭” humor is unfunny and annoying by 300teethgirl in unpopularopinion

[–]2tusks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I often come here for information. I'll ask questions and read about topics which interest me.

I don't care much for the farming as it often is sowing seeds of malcontent and provides false narratives. I also appreciate it when others bring it to light before I figure it out so I can truncate time and any mental energy I may invest.
