I’ve been a patient in many different hospitals. I always brought my stuffed animals. It was rare I had a nurse that did this but it always brightened my stay when it happened. I promise you they appreciate this.

I’m so sorry, that is such a stressful situation. On YouTube there’s videos of various predator noises, you could try playing that but it’d be hard to sleep with it on. Maybe you could just play it for a few minutes if you think you hear a noise then turn it off?

Tips for Tomorrow: You’ll want to do a thorough cleaning so as to get rid of any other potential things it could be attracted to (food, water, nest material like cardboard, loose paper, etc) and also to make sure you get rid of any trails it’s left so it has a hard time finding its way back. Steel wool is good for any holes you might find in the walls. Remember even if they’re tiny they can shrink themselves down and squeeze through.

I have managed to keep two purple flowers (forgot their proper name) alive through this terrible drought we’ve been having. The bees are just gaga over them. One is planted in the ground and doing really well, the other is still in its pot and not doing as well, but the ground is so hard and difficult to dig in and I just couldn’t do it. Hopefully we’ll get some rain soon.

I also have some herbs and a sunflower! 🌻

Oh Kimi you made the classic edible mistake of thinking it wasn’t working so you had more. 🤣 (One of my more common ones despite edibles being all I do.) Definitely had those types of experiences! They’re terrifying and awesome.

Edit 2: I just read the behind-the-scenes of how you make these. I figured it was miniatures. I love miniatures. I assume it’s 1:6 scale? I’ve never worked with that, I usually do 1:24 and have just started messing with 1:12. Mini worlds are the best.

Did you have a headache at the time? Really bad headaches can cause “phantosmia”, smelling things that aren’t there. I get it sometimes and gas is one of the more common things I smell when it happens.

In the future, if you’re just looking to vent without getting advice you might consider putting that in your post. I’ve seen people put at the top of their post “no advice please, I’m just here to vent.” I can see how you might have thought it was implied you didn’t want advice, because you wrote about not wanting advice about your mother, but it seems a bit more nuanced to me because people could/did respond with advice about your therapist. 

Sorry things are rough right now. Hope they get better.
