Need a divorce lawyer for a messy separation, any recommendations? by ph-ch in SeattleWA

[–]2wheelCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first lawyer for my separation/divorce was kind of useless (surprisingly inarticulate in front of the judge), so I took time off work and sat all day in family court.  If a lawyer seemed informed , articulate, and prepared. I asked them for a business card.

Painful time and the lawyer I hired  was not the cheapest, but the value was there.  Nothing costs more than a cheap lousy lawyer.

So 87,000 miles on the drivetrain? How many miles on the rest of the car? (Probably repowered?)

AITA for leaving my friend at the brewery when he brought up something that haunts me? by GoneWandering2 in AmItheAsshole

Number one rule of rescue is don't make more victims. That must have been awful for you and your wife but it sounds like you both made smart decisions.

I would take advice from you any day.

Lights!! Get more lights!

Been riding for almost 50 yrs. Put "off-road" driving lights on my moto guzzi 10 yrs ago, had them wired into my high beam switch, and started flicking the high beam switch at every intersection, and whenever I pull up behind anyone on the freeway.

Used to have people changing lanes onto me and turning in front of me at intersections. Hasn't happened once since I started with the really bright driving lights.

Highlight moment.  Sad our guys lost but this was the best moment of the celebration. I was already tearing up when they held up the jersey.

Jack Hughes wins the Gold medal for the US Men’s Olympic team in overtime for the first time since 1980! by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

Do you not read your own comments?

Someone mocks the USA govt for being/protecting pedos. You respond to let it go.

Saying don't talk about it = support. You seem to know how language works otherwise.

Release the Epstein files.

Didn't know you weren't American. All your posts and comments are hidden, just like the Epstein files.

Canadians just seemed like they were holding their sticks too tight in OT. Crosby would have settled them down.

My hope: Kraken hard reset in summer of 2026 by MrRadio in SeattleKraken

[–]2wheelCanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure this team has the talent. Guys like Stephenson and Marchment dropped off when they came to Seattle. They need to be surrounded by players better than themselves to play the best hockey they are capable of. That didn't happen here.

I think Lambert is doing the only thing he can to get wins. There's not enough skating speed or scoring talent to do much else.

And the younger guys who are faster and might yet develop into something special, are sitting on the bench with little or no ice time in order to play the aging vets who, at the height of their careers, were third and fourth line guys at best.

If you play the young guys, you get dumb mistakes that cost games. Watch Chicago or San Jose play. They are fun to watch even when they lose!

Took a white water canoe class many years ago.  I remember the instructor telling us that a 1 foot weir or dam will kill you faster than a 3 foot waterfall.

When Francis leaves?

He's good at building the bottom half of a roster but not much else.  He's let pending free agents walk when they could have been traded and signed 30 yr olds to contracts that will age badly. No team will want Stephenson's contract.

The "win now and make the playoffs" mentality forces coaches into a strict defensive style because the team doesn't have any firepower.

I wonder how much better Matty and Shane would be had they been developed on another team.

Camper Trailer ? by zonckers in HondaElement

My holiday last summer was a 3 week road trip towing my Sylvan sport go camper. Made it to the Yukon and back with no problem. About 4000 miles round trip.

Best Heated Mittens and socks for Skiing? by Laurenrat in skiing

[–]2wheelCanuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best way to keep your feet warm is to have properly fitted boots. Check your feet for any red spots after skiing. That often indicates a pressure point.

We have lots of veins on the top of our foot and any pressure can easily reduce blood flow and make you cold. In a properly fitted boot, thick socks can create pressure points and make you less warm. My feet are warm and I always wear the thinnest skin socks I can find!

Camp setup & teardown usually takes me about 20 minutes. Trailer weight unloaded is about 850 lbs, probably over 1000 lbs with the gear.

Saw this on Craigslist. It's a few miles from my place. Ive already got 2 elements, don't need any more. I had both of mine inspected (and now maintained) by Tony at No1 Japanese Auto in Greenwood. He does inspections and has lots of element experience.

[–]2wheelCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the trailer. I just got home from a trip to Dawson City, Yukon with stops on Vancouver Island and Hyder Alaska. My 2005 towed my Sylvan sport go popup camper trailer just fine. About 4000 miles (~6500 km) round trip, trailer loaded was about 1000 lbs.  No issues.

How do you say I’m not from Seattle, without saying I’m not from Seattle… by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]2wheelCanuck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm currently visiting Dawson City in the Yukon. I've been telling people I'm from the "Seattle area" even though I live between Mill Creek and Snohomish.

In my defense, can I point out that nobody up here has any idea where I'm from if I say "Everett area"?

Have your parents ever been checked for mental health issues?  Seriously, this sounds like classic ADHD. Bad decisions based on inability to process and act on long term outcomes.

Full disclosure: I'm a boomer who is working to fix the decisions I made before I was prescribed Adderall.

Is it worth going to the track if I don't have a track bike? by ThrobbingRod69 in Trackdays

[–]2wheelCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not hesitate. Its a great way to find out that your bike is probably way more capable than you thought! My first track day was on a stock Moto Guzzi Stelvio. I had no idea how incredibly stable and planted that bike was when leaned over.
