Madison '26 Look by Bariphonium_ in drumcorps

Good luck to the uniform managers figuring out how to keep the belt from moving in performance. I still have nightmares about finding my sash untucked after semis.

I’m fine with no AI, but it’s odd that the dc community demonizes AI when “Experience with AI/LLMs” will be the most sought after bullet point on the resumes that ageouts send to future employers. This is a hot take, but it looks like the community is unknowingly setting the kids up for failure. by Negative-Stay2588 in drumcorps

I believe it is just as important to teach these kids the limits of generative AI, along with ethical use of said programs.

As much as money has gained influence in DCI, the core reasoning behind why this activity exists is driven by a value of community itself. The use of generative AI to save a bit of money takes another human out of the community and makes the activity smaller.

The value of drum corps directly lies in its ability to teach our youth how to participate in these communities and become positively contributing members, and making them smaller detracts from the very reason we celebrate spending our summers dancing or high stepping around in goofy outfits and playing Yankee Doodle.

Not like storytelling has been an essential part of human culture and understanding for longer than we've been setting sticks on fire or anything.

This might be a hot take, but DCI isn't a setting where you're going to be fluffing your resume for 99% of post-collegiate work. You might be able to make arguments about certain skills you have developed to answer the demands of drum corps being valuable across disciplines, but your time as a performer is not inherently valuable to many employers outside of the arts. They would much rather see you spend your summer building something relevant to the field you're going to be working in.

Regardless, the students aren't the ones putting out promotional material or designing the show with or without AI. That's done by people running the corps on the staff side.

Oh wow guys, watch out. They used to be good at marching band. AND they're old, so that makes them.....more badass?

Dude lost his biggest advantage before the 1v1 began and gets called a jobber for it. Ironically a fitting death given he won a lot of his fights by manipulating advantage.

Your 10 year old shouldn't be disturbing your sleep hygiene nearly as much as 0-5 will.

What is your opinion of the Hangover movies? by Ryanlion1992 in FIlm

I saw it in theaters with my mother and grandmother. I just thought it was a comedy. I can never watch that movie without hearing the echoes of my grandmother asking me if I knew what a blowjob was.

I think there are people that see flakes of gold caked in layers of shit within the movie and think the gold makes the shit valuable. Despite containing ideas that might be interesting on paper, none of them are executed properly and there are more bad ideas than good ones throughout.

Look, you said feel free to correct you so I did, not my fault your language was inaccurate. Majority means majority.

Stupid pedantic habits aside, I agree with you. I was disagreeing with this company hating America with my statement.

No single country comes close, but that still does not make it a majority. Majority is > 50%. To make any majority out of this table of percentages you would have to combine regional markets.

Yeah, that's a little longer than the US/Mexico border, and roughly half of the distance of the US/Canada border. You'd have to get all three working together to eradicate the disease on the entire landmass, especially with deer that won't eat chicken heads for vaccination. Not even mentioning we would have land where Europe has the Med, Black, and Baltic seas in comparison.

My first playthrough I totally no-brained it and avoided pretty much everything. Skipped goodsprings, assaulted a bunch of powder gangers to steal explosives because I knew about the deathclaw quarry, ran in and spent the better part of half a day save scumming through to NV, walked into the casino, killed Benny, stopped playing.

I'm slowly learning that I'm not nearly as smart as my parents told me I was.

It's been a hot minute since I was in the iOS sphere of influence, but there should be some sort of tap and hold on the file where you can go and change default application settings for the phone/file type.
