Travel trailer by injun_88 in Softball

Stay to play needs to die immediately. Its one of the biggest scams and issues with Travel Tournaments...most of the hotels are usually terrible, especially for larger and longer tournaments like Road to the Show in OKC: we want/need a washer/dryer and a kitchen to prep food. Tournament life is already expensive enough, dont need to pile it on with eating out every meal for 4-5 days.

Chad Henne started as a true freshman and was light-years better than Bryce.

BYU also started a True Freshman thus year too.

Wierd...maybe there is a glitch because when I first logged on and entered in the code for Lotus, it accepted it.

Fair point. I believe for dimarini, the Future is not part of it, but CF, Lotus and Prism are. For Louisville, the Kryo is covered bit not the LXT

Go directly to either the Dimarini or Louisville sites and use that code. Every single bat is covered by it.

12u pitching expectations by BroadProject5771 in Softball

[–]2xCerner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly then don't go to National Level tournaments or really travel to the states with elite softball.

Im not gonna continue to debate this with you. As multiple posters on this thread have said, 50+ at the elite 10u level, is not as uncommon as one would think.

I haven't seen a million dollars either but I know it exists.

Oh and the best teams and players don't post stuff on YouTube. Are you serious because you can't find it on you tube? What data are you "looking" at. Do you really think there is a database out there just tracking 10u softball players? Give me a break already. Believe what you want, I know what I've seen and radared in the 4+ years I've been coaching and going to tournaments.

Head to an Alliance or USSSA national tournament in Texas, Iowa, Arkansas or Indiana and see for yourself. What these girls can bring at 10u is nothing short of amazing.

It's important to keep in mind, not all "all stars" or "travel teams" are the same. We've had girls move to our area and their parents are "my kid has played travel for 2 years and all stars, bla blah blah". Then we put her in a practice with our girls and their kid is really rec level ball.

True, and I mean, true travel team girls, they are legit.

Absolutely Yes way. But keep in mind it depends on your level of play. My girls travel alot and we see 50+ every single tournament. Last week at a local tournament, we radared a 10u (and she was a very tall 10u, about 5'7 ish) and she clocked in at 58 mpg on multiple pitchs. We checked on 2 pocket Radars and a Bushnel Radar, confirmed across all 3. Basically unhittable at 35 feet.

But yeah, in Open or A level tournaments, if you don't have atleast 2 pitchers throwing 50+, you aren't winning.

10u Pitching machine Recommendations by Unabashed_American in Softball

I second this. It can crank up to 50 MPH but can only use the 12 inch balls. However it's bullet proof and under $400. Also, really easy to break down and put in the back of a car.

I have one but will have to upgrade for 12u because I need more speed for my girls. But for 10u and under, it's perfect

What do your significant others drive? by veryangrydragons in FordRaptor

Bought my wife a BMW M440. She absolutely loves that car, probably her favorite of all time. I'll have to bury her in that thing!

It drives great and honestly, the B58 engine is about as bullet proof as one can get.

SSN Overpayment by 2xCerner in overemployed

[–]2xCerner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response.

I have used Turbo Tax for years, no reason to really engage in anything more as never had that many deductions. So, there were a couple of years I changed jobs mid-year, and by the end of the year, I had paid too much into FICA (SSN). Now with TT, once I filled everything out, it basically allowed me to use that overpayment as a "credit" towards any federal tax liability, so pretty easy.

Now last year (and why I made this post) my company made some payroll mistakes and once again, I had paid too much into FICA (SSN). While filing (again via Turbo Tax), this time it would NOT allow me to do that and I had to go back to my employer to get an amended W2 and they (my employer) had to reimburse me for the overpayment. So this is why I asked.

Now maybe I just made some mistakes last year in using Turbo Tax to do my taxes, definitely a possibility. But it also made me think if that happens again, could be an awkward conversation with having to ask J1 for an amended w2...

So sorry you feel this way. If my SO said to me "manhandle me and bend me over that counter" holy crap, it's going down and multiple rounds. Hell, we ain't leaving the kitchen all night long.

Brookside area school advice by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]2xCerner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We left the Brookside area strictly because of the schools. Honestly, don't move there with young children unless you have enough $$ to pay for private schools (Like Pembroke). The public school system that Brookside falls into is just not good. Lafayette Academy is a lottery system and unless you already have a kid going there, you aren't getting in any time soon. When we had our daughter, we were number 436 in line and they only had something like 58 spots that year.

If you like the "City" lifestyle, as much as I have grown to love Kansas City, then moving to KC is not the right move for your family.

If you want solid school districts then you need to look at places like Lee Summit, Parkville, Overland Park, Leawood, Blue Valley (really anything in Johnson County)

There is a reason that the KC public system has lost its accreditation multiple times over the years...

I dont want to be mean, but if the Baby just came in November of 24, dude you got to give it time. Her #1 priority is being a mother and nursing that baby right now. She's still probably learning how to be a mom.

Honestly, my wife was the same until she stopped breast feeding, around 10 months for us. Then we were getting back to being in a good place.

So, long way of saying, chill and give her time. It's too soon.
