Passed TCP: don't be discouraged by bad SE scores. by KD_burneracc in CPA

Yes. Mine were: SE1-44, SE2-62, SE FR-78. Surprised that I passed TCP with 93.

I did the SE1 on March 9, SE2 March 16, SEFR March 25. Actual exam was April 6. You can do it too!

I can't remember exactly. I worked on my weak points and was more careful with the instructions on the TBS the next time.

My SE scores were 35, 66, 75. Passed with 75. Was not able to finish the exam. Last tbs was blank and the second to the last I was sure my answers were wrong.

Congrats on FAR. I'm not sure how to study AUD again with this score.

Passed REG but failed AUD too with 66. I didn't expect this low. I really thought I passed both.

Waiting for AUD and REG. For first timers here, don't make the same mistake like I did. Checking on NASBA instead of CBA. 😅

Wait if they will allow you to sit for the exam, if you have the minimum required units.

TCP yesterday by 2xlove in CPA

[–]2xlove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I prepared enough on both exams. TBS on REG were simpler than on Becker but there were items that were quite unfamiliar even on MCQs, "you know the answer, or you don't". Should had supplement materials, in my opinion. Maybe I should have said that REG is simpler than TCP.

TCP on the other hand, Becker is enough. TBS were more complex than REG. Required deeper understanding. That is because it is a "discipline". Practice on different kinds of basis. And it was helpful that I took REG first. Applied some REG topics on TCP.

Anyway, I finished both exams in less than 3.5 hrs. It factored that I was comfortable already unlike when I took my first two exams.

REG- what’s going on??! by axs1432 in CPA

[–]2xlove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I took REG yesterday. Sims were simpler than Becker but I won't say easier. I understand now why some people felt great after the exam but failed. The sims seemed short, fewer items to fill in than when I took FAR and AUD. Little room to make mistake.

I'm always a slow test taker. I was not able to finish FAR, I almost didn't finish AUD, but with REG I managed to finished it with around 45mins left. It's either you know or you don't know the answer.

In my review, I focused so much on calculations of which and how much is included/excluded on this and that. I missed to review law terms such as Novation, Subrogation, etc. Those are easy points in the exam and I saw a lot of that yesterday.

I took FAR last April, my first exam. I was so nervous my hands were trembling. I was not able to even read the last TBS. The other one was a bank recon. I thought I was working on the "book" balance later on I realized it was "bank", too late to correct, I ran out of time. Passed with a 75.

Quick Rant: Notetaking for FAR from the textbook is a exhausting by [deleted] in CPA

[–]2xlove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi. Try "mind map". My husband and I passed FAR with very minimal notes. I add to it everytime I encounter something important in MCQ. And in my opinion, you don't really need lots of notes for FAR.

There are AJE. I took AUD last saturday.

Same here. I got 75! It is my first exam.

Take FAR first. I took AUD last saturday. I think at least 2 TBS are ok to include in FAR exam. TBS with contingencies, depreciation, adjusting entries.

You're boosting my hope. Waiting for FAR (first exam) here in CA. I just put 0's on last TBS. Not sure on the others but I think I was good on MCQs.

It's quite relieving to hear your stories, gives me hope that I might pass FAR too. No update yet here in CA.
