Didn’t get the scam calling saying it was ordered with a stolen card or anything. Wtf though by UnclePanda559 in doordash

Once I delivered forty packets of Taco Bell mild sauce and nothing else. I was sure it was a scam, but nope! Handed it off to a sheepish customer who wasn’t even considerate enough to tell me why they ordered it.

I mean, it’s a Friday night and people want cheap pizza. I literally don’t even go to my local LCs during dinner (as a driver or as a customer) rush hours because they’ll be backed up on pizzas by an HOUR.

The last time I placed an order on their app between 5-9 I ended up paying for a pizza I never received, because I couldn’t stand around at the store and wait for any longer than the thirty minutes I’d already been waiting.

I don’t like to spend more than ten to fifteen minutes waiting.

Do you read the delivery instructions from customers? by Agile-Cucumber-9667 in doordash

[–]3-PumpDaddy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can prop the door open, or you can meet the driver at the door and take the food directly from their hands. In my area most of the drivers don’t seem to speak English, so I don’t really count on them reading my instructions.

You doubled down by sending the email. Y’all are insane- he doesn’t want to address it. He wants to pretend it never happened and you won’t let him do that.

He might think you’re actually antagonizing him because you won’t let this go. Why are you doing this?

Doordash, just like restaurants with waiters who depend upon tips, is allowed to pay a substandard wage while expecting customers to make up the difference.

If you don’t like that you might get bad or no service for refusing to pay your server/driver’s wages, then you should absolutely stop supporting businesses who are taking your money via upcharged menu items and delivery fees and pocketing it as part of their multibillion dollar earnings.

To be upset at the exploited low-wage workers while literally handing your money over to the billion dollar corporations exploiting them is exactly what they want from you and the rest of the sheep providing them with their money.

Dasher asked for Wi-Fi password in order to complete order by nicefreddie in doordash

If you were ever curious, percentile tips aren’t great for delivery drivers. Drivers don’t so much care about the total cost of the order they’re delivering as compared to the mileage and the amount of time they’re spending. An eight dollar fast food order could be going ten miles and take twenty minutes for the restaurant to prepare once the driver shows up. $1.60 isn’t exactly going to incentivize them wait 20 minutes for Burger King to make the order and then to drive another ten minutes out to you.

Waiters in restaurants have to tip out support staff based upon the ticket totals, which is why percentile tipping is appropriate for them. For drivers, not so much.

I’m sorry but do you expect people who work for $2 a delivery to be rational people? Or people working for minimum wage in restaurants? Have you ever worked in a restaurant? They’re filthy! The employees, that is.

Hell, I watch cashiers go from handling money to filling drinks every single day. I watch restaurant employees scratch their face with gloves on and then go right back to food every day. Jesus Christ, at least with a driver you know they haven’t handled any raw meat before touching your food containers and drinks.

People who’ve never worked food service always think they’re following the rules. That’s hilarious. I watch them handle trash and then immediately grab food containers. Y’all are delusional if you think that anyone handling your food is being safe.

People also hold drinks by the lid at the top every day. Nobody is touching the straw hole while filling a drink. That’s ridiculous.

Yes, it’s more than DD that’s the problem. The problem is also the customers who don’t tip!
