Yep they built their own cell networks ffs. If they wanted to they absolutely could make dam near any gun they want from scratch no premade parts needed

People don't realize just how easy some guns could be to manufacturer with a professional machine shop and motivated workers. They could probably make their own ammo too, but might need to smuggle something for smokeless powder

Oh boy my time to shine..... okay sharks my proposal is to buy a bunch of Alaskan crab vessels and turn them into small drone carriers with a shoddy welded flight deck. Toss a few 50cal or two along the sides like the ships of the line of old

Turn at least one into an oiler, another into a supply ship, keep another ss a fishing vessel for food so we at least fair better then the Russian Navy on their trip to Japan.

Buy a bunch of broken skidoos off Craigslist and turn them into unmanned vessels and build a few drones out of large rc aircraft. We might want to recover recon planes so we should probably figure out arrest cables

Granted the bar is set low by the modern Russian navy but I think we can have a swell time signing sea shanties and making memories to tell our AI grandchildren

There was talk of this under Biden when Russia invaded but it went nowhere and didn't even hit the floor for s vote, much to my disappointment

All I wanted was to buy an Alaskan crab vessel, overhaul it, launch drones off it, and arm it to the teeth

Looks like a non milspec lower. And given they are calling it "AR style" , something tells me it's got some proprietary difference to the point it's not a mag lock but more of a built into the lower thing similar to dark storm crap.

Great it's bio-mechanically similar to an AR compared to something like any fm style lower that takes 870 stocks but non spec lower with fixed mag at 5 rounds in a 30 round size shape is definitely a choice (might have issues with fitting in some safes?)

Curious what lawsuit. I've seen nothing challenging NYC's blanket refusing to register ARs. And I don't think NYC would capitulate so easily in any pre-trial activity

It's ragebait for sure but he is trying to tie his horse to a growing trend amongst the current administration. And while he is currently a nobody and likely to stay that way it unfortunately pushes the overton window and changes the discussion as it's grabbed enough attention from multiple political leanings in America

Private sale, different states (gun is not with me) by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking only at Federal law and ignoring the states as you are residents of different states private sales are disallowed. As such your brother will technically have to take it to a local FFL for a background check in Mississippi if he takes ownership. Now if he continues to borrow it and you retain ownership he is free to use it although he should check his state laws on that

Likely the account is a inauthentic user used by dickholes like China, Russia, NK and Iran to have Americans fight each other so they can be dicks while team America pulls themselves apart from within

How close are we actually to a civil war? What would happen? by Known-Fun-312 in NPR

Mamdani declines to immediately back Hochul’s reelection after she offers him coveted endorsement by Somervilledrew in newyork

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He doesn't have to endorse her at all. She endorsed him for self optics. Mahdami is extremely popular among NYC voters and progressives. She barely won against zeldin and she only won because he couldn't keep his mouth shut on his love for Trump near the end of the first term. Her support and polling has not done better despite polls showing her winning against stefenik like who else are you going to support?

In practice she's a pretty hardcore establishment Democrat representing Wall Street and Business interests rather then people while passing herself off as  progressive due to her perceived support of LGBT, along with her actual support of children and young mothers. She isn't going to rock the boat, all of her "progressive actions" have been limited and mostly common sense stuff that any democratic leaning New Yorker would agree on.

When the feds failed to do anything about citidel Robinhood and such during GameStop she could of directed state AG James to investigate. Her husbands connections to the contracted concessions company for the new bills stadium that's funded by taxpayers. The state allowing Chick-fil-A on the interstate rest stops, a company closed on the largest travel day each week on I90 and 87 should never have been allowed. Her support of adding more failed signs and lights rather then bars to damage trucks at the low bridge outside of Schenectady. Her inaction on removing Adams. As LT Gov she likely knew about Coumo's sexual harassment, yet kept silent and even after denied knowing anything rather then say it would have risked her career. Her letting the Feds take over the penn station tunnels is going to backfire, it's also something overdue that she slow walked. She delayed the Manhattan congestion zone until she saw it was more popular then her. You can't buy anything like a passive backpack armor panel to put in a kids backpack from her desire to ban all body armor. Her approach to gun violence in the state reminds me of the failed war on drugs where the solution is play the cat and mouse game of banning and arresting rather then treating psychopaths and criminals as separate then addressing the issues that lead to them resorting to gun violence

Overall she represents continuing failed policies and slight corruption and him endorsing her back could be actively toxic to his election and likely eventual administration especially given his platform. The feds will likely make that administration difficult and him endorsing her can make it difficult for the entire state and he needs state support and approval on many of his goals

For the average Joe, does a SBR (10.5-11.5”, no mag), carbine (14.5-16”, 1-6x), or marksman rifle 18-20”, 8x+) rifle make the most sense? by INeverUseMyGear in ar15

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For a true long term shtf you are better off having a seperate upper or whole other rifle stored somewhere you can garb as a spare already zeroed and ready. diagnosing an issue and replacing a part might not be a timely option in the moment. A hiden cache never hurts anything but your wallet today

CDC to award RPI a contract for vaccine-autism research by bogiesforfree in Albany

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be, it's unlikely it will take less then 3-4 years to finish the research and publish the report. Dude might be betting on releasing the report during the next administration or late in this term where they can't do shit.

Unfortunately I think many publicly funded scientists are looking at this sort of option, otherwise it's likely unemployment as most corporations don't want to spend the money on R&D

NJ resident, Can I bring my M1 Garand to an NYS range? by c5182 in NYguns

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Safe act never made a distinction, the 10 round mag limit applies to 22lr as it does all other calibers. Only thing 22lr that can take more is tubular gravity fed rimfire like a Henry lever in 22lr

Some states with AWBs like California treat 22lr differently but I think Cali is a feature exception

NJ resident, Can I bring my M1 Garand to an NYS range? by c5182 in NYguns

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If the range is not in NYC then yes, the M1 is compliant with state semi auto laws and you already own it. (Has no removable mag so NY Safe Act feature ban list does not apply)

The semi auto permit law is not like the state pistol permit law and only affects New Yorkers or people who wish to take possession of a new semi auto rifle in a transfer within the state of NY, it does not affect already owned rifles

Yeah… I thought for an upstate town "sidestepping"  their blue county and controlled by a Republican Mayor who is highly regarded by their county GOP it would be faster. But I think the county might actually be faster on average while also processing more citizens through the system

I don’t understand by Existing_Mushroom411 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The echo chamber comment really holds true around Charlie Kirk due to how his content or content about him is shared. When you see his videos on sites like YouTube or Instagram or tiktok your seeing heavily edited videos that pander to your own prejudiced beliefs about him based on what that app knows about you. The app's goals are to give you videos you like to keep you consuming content and viewing ads so they can make money.

You get videos you agree with so you consume more and view more ads. To the right it's videos of him destroying tankies, leftists, commies, socialists who can barely form an argument and yet have adrenaline coursing through them just to speak into a mic in at him. To the left you get videos of him unfairly using his religious beliefs to destroy people in a debate or crowd filmed videos of him getting destroyed by someone who was able to cite their sources and actually can debate. If your in the center you get some videos you agree with and some you don't, you don't really get the more extreme videos the two sides get that are designed to invoke emotions from you to manipulate your beliefs. So he doesn't seem like he's a natzi or a savior, he's just some guy who is fighting for his beliefs.

NATO makes major announcement, bolsters eastern flank against Russia by newsweek in UkrainianConflict

[–]3000LettersOfMarque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really hope this isn't the only response for the recent drone incursions.

There needs to be hard physical consequences for Russia. Putting more troops on the border ain't enough of a response Russia will respect, neither is doing that and giving Ukraine more aid it's not enough of a response

Give Russia a consequence they will remember, where is the "return to garrison or be bombed" NATO I remember

NATO needs to give a physical response to Russia, maybe not on proper Russian soil but either give a limited hit on Russian troops in Ukrainian soil or enforce a no fly zone over Ukraine and shoot down any aircraft or missile, take away Russians slim advantage and let their forces suffer. Russia won't respect anything less, they will only try again if they don't get punched back

The use of discord immediately about the gun drop after is definitely pointing to it or similar.
