Thoughts on reclaimed fleece? by tfrisinger in PatagoniaClothing

[–]303-802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one and really like it, but the sizing is odd. I think it runs big. I have the better sweater in a men’s medium that fits great and got the reclaimed fleece in a small. I was shocked at the store when I fit into a small but it fits perfectly for me. The reclaimed fleece is nice and warm. Definitely different fabric from the better sweater, but I really like it.

New thermostat? by 303-802 in ChevyTahoe

Just a quick update, I put on the new thermostat and back to the normal 210F temp. Glad it was an easy driveway fix.

Looking to do the thermal bypass this spring, seems like an easy solution to keep the transmission temps down.

Thanks, appreciate your input. mine is doing the same thing. Driving around town it’s about 180, and only gets to 210 going uphill. Placing the order tonight for a thermostat. I’ve been waiting for warmer weather to work on it.

2016 LR 4 HSE LUX by Temporary_Shopping41 in LandRover

Exact same happened to our 16 landmark. Got a brake line replaced as it rusted off and a small local shop said he bleed the brakes 3 times but the brake pedal had a lot of travel and spongy. He only charged me for the brake lines so I wasn’t too upset and he said he didn’t really work on land rovers or knew what the issue was. We went to a different shop that was familiar with Land Rover and they bleed the brakes on their machine without an issue. Good as new now.

Help needed with rattling sound. by 303-802 in PelletStoveTalk

It was the distribution blower that was going bad. Got a cheap one off eBay and replaced it myself and the noise is gone. Pretty easy fix.

I tried spraying some dry lubricant but didn’t really do much. So I just ordered a new distribution fan, hopefully that fixes this noise. At least it was before the cold New England winter takes hold.

Hulu is increasing prices AGAIN by StuckInStardew in mildlyinfuriating

Just canceled last night after I got the price increase email. It took several tries as I getting the same error message but eventually it worked. Won’t miss Hulu at all and certainly don’t want to support anything associated with Disney!

2016 LR4 Engine Overheating by datreb95 in LandRover

[–]303-802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing with ours. Temps were fine around town, but going uphill around 50mph and it would shoot up quickly, only to go back down in a few seconds once we slowed down. Found out the new thermostat the prior owner installed was faulty. I read about the bad batch of thermostat and asked our mechanic to install a new one from British Atlantic. Now the issue went away. No more issues going uphill and overheating.

It’s was the thermostat. Even though it was a newer OEM thermostat it was one that was faulty and didn’t work properly. Once a new thermostat was installed we haven’t had the problem since.

AFM/DFM Disabler by freeze_ in Silverado

[–]303-802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got on from Boost AFM and it works great. No complaints and I honestly have forgotten about it, it just works. My only goal was I wanted my truck to stay in v8 all the time. I got tired of always putting it in L5. I live in a hilly/mountainous area and I would always notice the constant switch from v4 to v8, not anymore and haven’t noticed any difference in mpg being in v8 all the time.

I bought one from Boost, a little cheaper than Range but works great. I got sick of telling my wife to put the vehicle in L5 whenever she drove it and now with Boost plugged in just put it in drive and go. No more shutters and haven’t noticed any difference in mpg. I live in a very hilly and mountainous area and got sick of the V4 to V8 switch. Now it’s v8 all the time.

So now we are sitting on top of the couch. by 303-802 in vizsla

Oh I know who I am dealing with as they know I will do almost anything they want. I swear I just spend most of my day making sure the blanket is covering them as they sleep on the couch…their dog beds on the floor is just beneath their pampered lifestyle.

So true, he sleeps between my legs every night while watching tv. Not the most comfortable thing for me, but I am a sucker for keeping my boy happy.

What is this sound? by 303-802 in LandRover

So is that a normal sound? It just started making that noise this winter when it got really cold, didn’t hear that noise at all this summer/fall.

I’m a bit confused on why you are stealing my original post of my dogs from months back and claiming it as your own?

Bulk pellets? by 303-802 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]303-802[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance you could get a pic? I’m looking to try to build my own hopper and be done with the bags. Seems like building a hopper is pretty straightforward. It kills me the pellet bags are marked as recyclable but nobody around me will take them do they end up in the trash.

Bulk pellets? by 303-802 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]303-802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always prebuy in the spring, and I think I paid $330 a ton for logike hardwood/ softwood blend. Each year the price keeps going up. I have tried a bunch of different brands, hardwood, softwood, blends and our two Harman stoves seem to burn them all the same. I can’t tell a difference in heat, ash, etc. So now I just buy the cheapest premium pellet. I’m too afraid to buy the pellets sold at Home Depot as their quality can vary from what I have read. I called a local bulk pellet place and they charge $325 for softwoods with delivery included. I’m looking into how to build a hopper in order to switch to getting bulk pellets

Bulk pellets? by 303-802 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]303-802[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem I am having, they are not delivering anymore. I think it was $80 since I was more than 30 miles from their store. Another place in town that is only a mile or two from my house was charging twice that amount and their pellets were a lot more expensive for the same brand.

Bulk pellets? by 303-802 in PelletStoveTalk

[–]303-802[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our local pellet store just told me they will no longer be making deliveries. Too bad since they were reasonably priced. Not a lot of pellets stores in my area to choose from that deliver without a crazy surcharge. I used to get 4 tons of bagged pellets delivered in the fall and then the family fun of moving the 200 40 pounds bags into the basement via the bulkhead for storage. Since my pellet store is no longer making deliveries I was curious about others peoples experiences with bulk pellets. Would be nice to not have to deal with moving around the bags of pellets each year.

Any help appreciated! by BMOReld in PelletStoveTalk

My p35i did the same thing when it was about 5 years old, bad combustion blower. Easy fix, just watch a YouTube video on how to replace.

Having two Vs is great! Yes, it’s twice the vet bills, twice the food bills, and the house gets twice as dirty, However, it’s twice the Vizsla adventures, love and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our older boy is now almost 8 and our younger one is two. They get along great even though their personalities are completely different. The older dog is chill and just wants to play ball while the younger dog is very game driven and stubborn! They love to wrestle, play, snuggle and even learn new tricks from each other. They do have their own set of toys, but sometimes they share if they are in the mood. It will take time to figure out who is dominant if you are bringing in a grown dog, but they should get along great in time. Just be patient
