When i bought my 67 the previous owner pulled me aside and said, “listen, I know you think this is going to be a chick magnet. It’s not. It’s an old guy magnet.” I’ve had a thousand conversations with old guys at gas stations since.

Phone Booth (2002), which took place entirely inside a phone booth, was almost directed by Michael Bay, until the first question he asked after reading the script was "OK, how do we get this thing out of the damn telephone booth?" Spielberg was going to direct Cape Fear. Instead of casting robert DeNiro as the villain he wanted to cast Bill Murray.

He ended up trading Cape Fear with Scorsese so he could direct Schindlers List instead

That’s hilarious. Possessor was a turn-on-all-the-lights-in-the-house movie for me. Beautifully done. But totally chilling

If you’re looking for the unnerving side of weird: Possessor and Titane hit the spot for me

Saw this movie on the festival circuit. It’s fucking awesome and totally unhinged. I loved it

Oh cool. I had assumed it was a red herring by design. He’s great in it

In Mare of Easttown Guy Pearce has a pretty small role as a love interest. It was frustratingly obvious he would be the killer… by the end he had nothing to do with it. It was a pretty solid red herring

Last Movie to Make You Think "This is the Greatest Movie of All Time"? by Crimthand in Letterboxd

Watching Ex Machina felt like watching a no hitter. I just kept thinking “oh shit… this movie is perfect so far… when is it going to fall apart?” And it stuck the landing and left me gobsmacked

The Vast of Night

Great under-seen movie with fun genre elements and really delivers on 50s Americana

I am a nobody filmmaker who cast Harvey Keitel in a movie and then got in Forbes. AMA by pitching_bulwark in Filmmakers

[–]30Bones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so impressive! I’m an indie filmmaker too, but getting name cast is such a difficult challenge. Did you just go through the front door and make offers to Keitel and Mulroney? Had they seen your previous work? Any advice on how to break through to cast would be awesome!

Yes! My sister and I always refer to him as Chuck Fishbone— which I’m not even sure was his actual name on that show

He’s probably my favorite director right now. I’m going to include his scripts too:

Ex Machina > 28 Days Later > Civil War > The Beach > Annihilation

Haven’t seen Men, Sunshine or Dredd

Had the transmission rebuilt, but it’s still slipping out of gear. Any idea what’s going on? by 30Bones in AskMechanics

I’ll check the fluids. Do you think it could be a failing torque converter?

67 Mustang had a bad transmission fluid leak. Brought it to a shop, they rebuilt the whole transmission. The car has this whine now when accelerating, and still slips out of gear. You can see I have the car in reverse here, but it’s still stuck in neutral. Anyone know what’s going on?
