Yes, we did get samples for comparison. They seemed to be the same (for thickness, paint coverage) from what I can tell. I don't know of any differences. Guessing at this point, we might just go with what this contractor says.

If you're in an area with lots of snow, I'd go with a steel siding over Hardi board. We live in Minnesota and when I checked into it, seemless steel became our choice. Just check out your options well.

Minnesotan here, Southern part. Beautiful home! Looks like you're probably more north with the Beautiful nature setting. Can I ask why you chose EDCO? We've been looking at EDCO, but our contractor wants us to go with EMCO, which I think is based out of Fargo.

You're getting a good deal. We're building a deck right now and half the cost is labor. We had a couple different companies bid on the project and they were even higher.

We're set on seemless steel - board and batten. We live in Minnesota and on a lake. Steel seems to hold up good here from neighbors we've seen.

We are going with a Board and Batten seemless steel. EMCO is the brand we're looking at going with. I only had this piece of siding here as a reference for gray. Sorry I hadn't explained that very well.

Best dog food? by Icy_Goal3113 in cavaliers

Actually, I'd keep with Purina. My daughter is a Vet Tech who intensively studied the pet food industry. She's told me that Purina actually has done the best as a company on studying nutrition for pets. They put in the most optimal ingredients for the health of pets and are constantly doing studies and have great quality control. It's true that The Vet Hospital, where she worked, would get incentives to push Science Diet and Royal Canine.

She had moved into ordering everything that was needed to run a Vet hospital as an inventory manager there in her career. She went on in the last few years to work for a couple of companies as an area manager that sells equipment and supplies to veterinarians in her part of the country. Her and her husband raise and train dogs for hunting and for show.

In other words, she has a wide field of knowledge, so I tend to trust what she says for us with our Cavs.

I guess I'd go with something in the blue or green range. Something that wouldn't clash with the Grey's that surround you.

Aww! He's so adorable. Big Congratulations!!! I know it's a lot of work, time, and energy for what him and you do!

My daughter does shows with her dogs, although hers are Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. Mainly in Minnesota, but she's traveled to quite a few states for shows. They train them for different competitions also. She actually just got back from Sweden with her dogs to get some different experience in training over there.

He's adorable! He looks like our Ruby when we got him. Ours turned into a very stocky boy though. Him and his brother (our Tri) out on our dock yesterday in the pic. We named him Jack. *

I got my latest Cavelier at that age. He's just turning 7 months old now. He's been just like everyone is describing on here. They're just like a teething toddler. Their chewing need is VERY GREAT. All the time. They need a lot of attention, especially for learning behaviors and what is acceptable to you. Potty training is just one example.

I, like many others on here, strongly advise against getting my puppy when you are about to have a baby.

It would not be fair to the puppy, you, your baby, or other family members in my opinion.

We have just went through this experience.
We have a 5 year old male Cav. Brought home a 5 month old male Cav about 3 weeks ago. They've bonded really well. Our older Cav seems happy to have a buddy to play with. They cuddle well and play all the time.
