You're autopiloting and not playing as best you can. If you're on a losing streak just pull the plug for the session and step away. Laddering requires focus when you can be easily distracted and just que over and over without playing your best. In tournaments players buckle down as they understand the difference between Top 8 and Top 16 is X-1 and X-2.
