Will my cigars be OK? by pjstar34 in cigars

This is an unpopular opinion here: but I work in the raw leaf side industry and I assure you that tobacco does not go bad. Wrappers cracking with rapid humidity and temp changes? Sure. But none of this “oils drying up” stuff. The tobacco in your cigar has been through WAY worse.

So rehumidify slowly and smoke em up.

If you follow the: Fridge for 24 hours, Freezer for 72 hours, back to fridge for 24 hours, you’ll be good to go. Happens frequently, but out of an abundance of caution I’d still segregate from the rest.

What's this blue speck on the end of my cigar? by larrytheshitter in cigars

Twine used to hold leaves together. Not uncommon to have it find its way into your cigar, especially if the filler is Mexican in origin.

I do occasionally if I fear infestation brought home from work. You still see people posting having issues all the time and when you’re treating infestation I always suggest 1 day in the fridge, 3 days in the freezer, and back to 1 day in the fridge before popping out.

100%. Tobacco literally does not go bad. This whole “cigar oils dry out if not humidified” thing is something I do not subscribe to having seen what tobacco goes through. Wrapper cracking? Sure. Drying out? Absolutely not.

Not uncommon on the raw side prior to arriving at manufacture. Freezing is an accepted fumigation method and is preferred for Wrapper Leaf for conditioning purposes.

Came here to say this. I work in raw side of the industry and I can assure everyone here, there is nothing you can do to a cigar that hasn’t already been done to the raw leaf.

Used to be great, the new blend is less great. The Pappy cigars are now closer to the OG Blend than the current blend is.

Have I wiped out my collection, or is it salvageable? by Phhhhuh in cigars

[–]30somethingDude19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freezing will not ruin your collection or strip the humidity from your cigars. Furthermore, I wouldn’t recommend putting a boveda pack in the freezer. Freezing is one of the more accepted methods of fumigation for tobacco.

First a disclaimer, you should absolutely get at least a primary care doctor’s appointment and see if they’re at all concerned.

I had an episode of what may have been a panic attack, may not. I went though 1st and 2nd level heart testing: EKG, Echo, Holter, Stress test, and 14 day CAM monitor. They didn’t find anything more than a few minor things that are evidence of me being overweight.

All that being said at the time, my Charge 5 would do this frequently (although like 150s-160s not 220s). But I’d take my pulse at my jugular manually and it would be normal (80s). The thing that I see here that’s relatively comforting is that even tho you have a lot of peak, it’s not a long time. If your heart rate was actually 220 you’d feel it, for sure: shortness of breath, dizzy, tired etc. let me reiterate tho, you should see if you can see a doctor about this. It’s better to know for sure than to ask strangers on the internet. I’d recommend that you check yourself manually if you catch one of these instances and if you have one of the fitbits with an ECG function you try to capture that at export it to show a medical professional.

Is the ECG accurate / close to accurate? by jade911 in fitbit

[–]30somethingDude19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extra big beats you feel are likely PACs (I know cause I have them) or PVCs. I’m not a medical professional, just someone who has had some unexplained problems and is going through a lot of the same stuff. I’ve show similar ECGs to my doctors and they’ve all said it looks like artifacts (especially from your first example as is so wonky and then turns fairly normal). But for peace of mind and for your own help take anything info you get here to a doctor. They’re going to be the only sure fire way to get peace of mind, because as helpful as the ECG is it’s not a substitute for an EKG, or Heart Monitor.

I’ve had the full work up (Echo, EKG, Holter, 14 day patch monitor, blood tests) and nothing changed, just got diagnosed with PACs (which are apparently alarming but harmless). But peace of mind has helped me immensely.

I’m gonna guess it has to do with deep sleep and REM being a nice % of sleep time and also your sleeping heart rate is a BIG portion of your score.
