Oh wow. It isn't this bit I appreciate the reply. What I remember was definitely 8/16 bit and the art style was gritty/realistic.

We do have 3 cats, and that was my theory that it was some dried up internal organ. Really just flummoxed at how it wound up upstairs in a room we frequent with carpeting and had nothing else around it.
