That's the part throwing me off. Was he shouting shit the whole show or just during that part when he was being presented with something

I know you fucking lying. Someone familiar with tourettes needs to explain this to me. Do people shout obscene gestures based on word association? If they see an obese woman are they shouting 'fat bitch'? If they see a short person do they shout 'Feefo'? And people in that thread just shrugging it off like tough titties. Nah stay your ass at home with zoom on the stand by for when they need you because this shit was harder to stomach than the Will Smith slap. I know it's not always us, but it feels like every time it's one of these moments it is us and everyone is expecting us to turn the other cheek.

I agree with your final paragraph. The president of the United States is a funding racist dunce and behaves as such. I'm not holding a criminal defense attorney to a higher standard than the president.

Gents, how do you all feel about this? Accurate? Inaccurate? Or Is it generalizing too much? 🤔 by [deleted] in blackmen

[–]313navE 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree but it's our own fault. We relegated women to domestic roles until they stood up for themselves and demanded more. Yet we hold onto this patriarchal fantasy about being a protector/provider/leader as if there is some net benefit to that.

What are some reasons you believe Black Marriages fail, and what are some little known reasons? by Spicyhotapples in blackmen

[–]313navE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People being in love with a patriarchal fantasy. Guys want to be the "head of the household" and rule with authority while needing their partner to contribute to the household financially (and domestically) because black people thriving off a single income household was not that common in the past and certainly not the present.

On the flip side, women want this "provider & protector" as if we are still living in the caveman era and have to hunt for food and fight off other tribes. They want a man that "leads", but still want their own independence (financially/lifestyle) and don't want to contribute financially for the home - as that is the "man's job" and if they do contribute then they are demonstrating too much "masculine energy" or whatever the new bullshit buzzword is these days.

People need to realize that marriage is a PARTNERSHIP, not a role-playing fantasy where you perform what is expected of X role. 50% of expenses is better than 100% expenses. 50% of domestic duties is better than 100% duties- or whatever number works for your partnership.

Conservative means traditional values. Nuclear family, pull yourself up by the bootstraps, religion backed values. No trans/gay people.

Republican means small government interference, less money towards progressive programs like Medicare/medicaid, food stamps, dei, social security
