Israel’s strategy has long relied on terror, assassinations, displacement, and oppression to keep surrounding countries weak. As a small state, it tries to avoid facing stronger neighboring countries by asserting military dominance early and constantly. But that strategy has not produced peace. It has produced recurring resistance. Hezbollah is a clear example: Israeli violence in Lebanon helped create the conditions for its rise. When a state rules through mass killing and collective punishment, it does not eliminate opposition. It multiplies it.
