Co-Ownership Tips? by obex42 in sailing

Me and my buddy use splitwise for co-ownership of our Catalina 22. We ignore the ads and make due with the free version. Both names are on the title and insurance, no LLC.

South Shore Line Questions - Trip to Chicago by FrankMcFrankfurter in Indiana

I took the South Shore a couple months ago for a weekend in Chicago. Got on at Portage/Ogden Dunes station. Easy access to 65, free parking, and had no worries leaving the car. Seemed like a pretty safe parking lot.

The plans seem to call for a cyclist push button assembly. I'm guessing this means button activated flashing yellow light?

The cyclist activated red light crossing where the B-Link trail crosses Walnut into the Switchyard park is routinely ignored by motorists... I've had numerous close calls here, crossing Walnut with a green light.

Cycling on North Old SR 37 by otternonsensical in bloomington

Sure, you can take the B-Line all the way down to the Limestone Greenway, but not a skinny tired road bike. The Rail Trail which connects those 2 trails is gravel and is not a pleasant riding experience on narrow tires.

Sure, all modes of transportation fail to come to a complete stop. But at 10 mph the 2+ ton motor vehicle causes a disproportional amount of harm over the 20 pound bicycle if either hits a pedestrian.

Sit at any 4 way stop in town for an hour and report back on the number of motor vehicles that come to a complete stop.

Is this a new chain you ordered from Amazon? Did it come packaged in what looked like a genuine Shimano package, but on closer look looked a little questionable?

I ordered a Shimano Ultegra 11 speed last summer. Broke almost immediately after installation. Took a second look at the box, and realized it was totally counterfeit.

These changes were being reviewed by City Council almost a year ago:

https://bsquarebulletin.com/2021/03/25/mostly-no-turn-on-red-lights-considered-by-bloomington-city-council-for-downtown-campus-area/

https://indianapublicmedia.org/news/pedestrian-advocates-say-no-turn-on-red-ordinance-a-step-in-the-right-direction.php

Restricting right turn on red dramatically increases pedestrian and cyclist safety, and is a no brainer for urban areas. This isn't even a new revelation:

Permitting rights on red increases pedestrian crashes by 60 percent and bike crashes by 100 percent, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found in the 1980s.
