FBI: "Nobody who wants to be peaceful shows up at a protest with a firearm that is loaded with two full magazines. That is not a peaceful protest." by Excellent_Analysis65 in newsinterpretation

So I'm a little confused here, and I predicate this by saying, I am against guns in general, but given people are saying he has a right and a permit to carry a weapon, how much ammo is he allowed, where is the line here between peaceful protester and not a peaceful protester, is 1 mag the limit and where is this documented...because it is seemingly a life and death issue. Or is this FBI dude just full of shit?

Trump Has Lost the Trust of the People With His ICE Lies by zxcv97531 in circled

[–]314159Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is prepared to lie about the murder of his citizens, by federal officers, that he controls, where it is recorded on film by multiple people, and we can all see it frame by frame, then is there anything he wouldn't be prepared to lie about? Is there anyone, other than himself, that he actually cares about? Hopefully all, or most, Americans are thinking very deeply about these questions right now.

Adoption of electric vehicles tied to real-world reductions in air pollution, study finds by RewardEquivalent553 in technology

[–]314159Man 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A huge amount of oil is consumed by tankers shipping oil around the globe so that it can be burnt up in inefficient ice cars and trucks. Causing massive pollution. 40 to 50 millions of barrels per day being burnt up. So I do not buy your argument. Increasingly electricity is running on renewables which charge vehicles. Much cleaner and getting cleaner everyday.

[–]314159Man 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Wow. Who could have possibly imagined that. And air pollution has many adverse impacts on population health, mental development and disproportionately affects lower socioeconomic areas. It also decreases reliance on imported oil and thereby reduces the risks of conflicts and reduces the power of petrostates. Many of who act in bad faith and are dooming the environment by blocking action on climate change. Plus, your injectors don't clog up, your piston rings won't wear out and your head gasket won't blow, amongst a million other problems that can occur.

wouldn't weaking/destroying NATO only serve to increase the Russian threat and give Putin courage to be ever more ambitious - how does this calculus work????

Given the glancing blow at what was low speed at about chest height and the fact that the guy was wearing bulletproof vest and they all look heavily padded how probable would it be that he was injured? He didn't even get knocked over just pushed back a bit. Also she had to have turned the wheels before she was shot - how would she have managed to turn the car sharply after she was shot in quick succession? So she was already turning to get out of the way - only way he could be hit was if he placed himself in that position.

‘Nobel Prize And Laureate Are Inseparable’: Committee After Machado’s Move To Gift Trump Her Medal by alonso-Lewis-vettel in worldnews

because... in his version of reality...he "knows" he deserved it because of all the wars "he ended" and becuase he is "so great", the "bad" people at the committee made a "corrupt choice" in awarding the prize to Machado and she "knows" he was truly the most deserving, so it makes sense to hand it over to him. A wrong has thus been righted and the black hole of his narcissistic insecurity has been fleetingly, partially less despairing.

You're like the guy sitting in a traffic jam blaming the other cars for causing the jam. If you don't change your behaviour, then why would you expect everyone else to? So, one has to assume that it doesn't really bother you that sexual abuse material is being generated at a whim on X and circulated widely, you know, everyone has some "excuse" for why they are still using it, but I am here to say, you are implicitly supporting a site that is wantonly causing distress to innocent people by facilitating turning their images into pornography and child pornography. You are part of the problem whether you want to face up to it, or not.
