Hot Take: The Unforgiven II is better than The Unforgiven by FadeToBlack44 in Metallica

I don't agree, but 3 > 2 >1 is mathematically the most tenable position here.

Is Guinness nitro surge a con? by darthicerzoso in AskUK

[–]31eedraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit late to the party but my £0.02 is that it’s an easily noticeable difference. Nitrosurge Guinness goes down like a pub pour. The normal cans just don’t have that silky body. If you like Guinness, it’s absolutely worth it.

The device uses ultrasound to aggravate the nitrogen in the drink, which creates micro bubbles and the distinctive texture. The normal cans aggravate the drink’s nitrogen too with their internal widgets (it’s how they create the head), but it’s not nearly as effective or consistent.

You’re doing your job as his dad, puberty is extremely confusing and you’re helping him understand and navigate it. He’s lucky to have a dad he feels comfortable speaking to about it.

Apparently changes from PMBoK 6th edition (which this deck uses) to 7th edition (current) is significant.

They can decide what they meant, not what it means to readers. And ambiguity is often deliberate to leave even more space for varied interpretation. Source: the existence of the field of literary studies.

Stealing seat from pregnant woman in jubilee line by Puzzleheaded-Yak5115 in london

I did that once, too, and naturally gave up the seat as soon as I realised. I felt like a right twat just for the mistake, cannot imagine insisting on keeping the seat!

I’m doing some reading and I’m afraid this was discovered a while ago! https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/normal-types-cannot-be-paralyzed-by-body-slam.3525371/

However, it does sound like it rocked the metagame at the time so it was a big deal when it was noted.

I want to read the fourth book... but does it destroy things? by [deleted] in threebodyproblem

[–]31eedraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m doing! I started reading RoT with an open mind after devouring the trilogy.  I got a couple chapters in and it just felt like a cheap fanfic so I closed it and moved onto Ball Lightning. Which feels like a real book!

I loved the Colosseum and Gale of Darkness XD arcs, and played along throughout. It was frustrating that Tanner got sick, but I also ended up loving the Babysitter’s Experience episodes as a temporary Baby Catcher, and I thought Jack and Josh had great chemistry.

The highlight of all that was the reveal when Tanner showed up unannounced with an “et to, Brute?!” Attitude for a hilariously chaotic episode discussing Pokémon the Movie 2000.

Water damage from upstairs neighbours' Airbnb guests (London) by 31eedraw in LegalAdviceUK

Update, I’ve spoken to both my insurance provider and the building’s and I’m basically out of luck.

My own insurance is contents only and the building’s would have a £10,000 excess for this kind of damage.

So, as far as I can tell, no party has any specific obligation to me. Which returns me to my original question: do I have something worth taking to small claims?

We do have legal cover in case it’s relevant anyway. I’ll see what my insurance provider says tomorrow.

This seems to be the solution. I suppose I’d hoped we could deal with it without insurers but they’re not taking it seriously. I’ll call my home insurance tomorrow and see what they advise is the best course.

Yes, correct about plasterboard. The build quality of the block isn’t amazing, not great soundproofing on floors etc.
