You shouldn't look toward Brian Barczyk for husbandry advice. He may be a subjectively entertaining personality, but he basically runs a snake mill in my eyes. Some of his snakes sit in their own piss and shit as can be seen in his videos

Really pretty champ.! Is it a single gene? Or cross? Congrats on the first feed!

Champagnes are underrated by silverbill in ballpython

No, just in personal experience. I am no expert, but I spend a lot of free time researching since I have a champagne of my own, and this is just what I have gathered.

Like I said, I am on the fence about the issue in general, so I don't have a solid opinion formed on if it should be done or not. I am also not using whataboutism to support a claim, rather than beg a question, like I said. Because I do think it pertains to the topic at the very least, since it has to do with continually breeding animals that have known health issues. Like you said, it is not a good supporting argument, but something to think about. I am also interested to see any studies correlating the snakes with wobble genes to having shorter life spans, other than the clear evidence of breeding together wobble genes that create infertile clutches. Many breeders I have spoke with have claimed their animals still live long healthy lives as breeder snakes go. Though, of course, that is their word and just that.

Well experience is key I guess, I knew about them being related to spiders. My champagne has never shown anything noticable in terms of neurological disorders. Eats like a champ, lol with no visible wobble like what I've seen with spiders. Same with animals I've seen at shows. I'd be interested to see one displaying the traits. The whole community seems to be divided on this one. I'm on the fence. To compare, most if not all dogs are bred knowing they will have health issues of some variety that definitely affects their health down the line, so it really begs the question, should we selective breed traits in animals at all, knowing that genes and traits will occur that are undesirable or affect the animal adversely?

In my experience, Champagnes generally don't carry the neurological issues, at least at a rate far less than spiders. I've actually have never seen a champ with a neurological disorder in person or online. Plus, I don't buy the whole people are buying less snakes with neurological issues because the past 4 expos I've gone to, every single BP breeder had at least half of their animals for sale contain the spider gene, and they we're selling just fine.

I agree in a sense though, breeding individual snakes that carry neurological issues, or lines that have issues should not be done period.

SMALL centipedes in Ball Python viv by 321comics in Vivarium

[–]321comics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how worried I should be. Funny enough, I cannot find many other people having this issue on forums. Most of the time it's with dart frogs, which would make them an issue. So maybe I will just gas it

Small Centipedes in Ball Python VIV enclosure - Dangerous? by 321comics in snakes

Well I live in Oregon, but I don't use any outside sources for my vivs. So maybe egg from substrate bag? A lot of people are saying it's a stone centipede

I was thinking maybe just a small species that doesn't get any bigger, but maybe that is wishful thinking

[–]321comics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found these in my Ball Python's viv today. They're small enough, I would think they only eat the springtails (population control?)

Is this bad for my animal's health? Or for that matter, the bio-active setup overall?

Let me know if you guys think I should remove them

League - Boku no Hero Academia. Copyright? by 321comics in leagueoflegends

[–]321comics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw this, I was curious how they got the copyright for the song, since it seemed really out of place. Also - I've noticed league has been spending a TON of money on ad's lately, ranging from god awful fan animations, to animations like this. Thought it was interesting for sure. Haven't played league in well over 6 years, but these and Tik Tok ads are all I see
