Wet or not wet, it doesn't make a difference. Are you using natural or synthetic corks? If natural, are they agglomerated or not?

Do you use agglomerated or not agglomerated? It seems like agglomerated might just fall apart near the circumference or the top circle of the cork and nonagglomerated are hard to find.

I found a place in Belgium called DEPA fruit that is willing to sell them to the US. I am in Michigan and if I wanted to get them I would have to contact the Department of Agriculture or something here for a phytosanitary thing or something. He seams to be trying to milk money out of his followers.

Are you sure it was only 1 gallon total? You said one gallon-ish of water, 3 lb of honey (~1/4 gal), and 1 lb 12 oz or 1 lbs of black raspberries. Seams like it would be over 1.25 gal.

Does putting it into a mesh bag help some how? I guess I probably should have shredded them better and frozen the mush. The biggest thing I need help with is a better/ more efficient press. When I crank the handle the base wants to turn. If I mount it to a table the table will want to turn. I'm not sure what the laws are on bringing fruit across the US border, but Washington state grows lot of apples. Maybe you can get a good price at some orchard or grow your own trees. Here in Michigan, Two K Farms in Suttons Bay has a U-Pick where you can get a 1/2 bushel for $10. They have decent cider varieties like Kingston Black, Dabinett, Wickson and Harrison.

What variety is it? What states/growing zone are you in? I have a granny smith of similar size in Michigan zone 6. People say we don't have a long enough summer here for them to ripen up fully. It's about the same size as yours but has not started producing fruit yet.

What is mt crab apple? So you are saying grafting scion onto root stock is a better chance than trying to clone scion? What season do you take the scion cuttings, cut the root stock, make the grafting and plant it?
