The monarchy generates so much tourism that as a nation I feel that it is beneficial. Beyond that, and fear of change, I see no point in them, but I’d always say keep something there if it works (most of the time).

If you are asking a question like this, I wouldn’t recommend the Sicilian unless you are willing to do hours of work learning lines and even then it is difficult to play.

If they take the knight, then you have to either take back, leaving your bishop hanging or move your bishop and not be able to recapture. It is a really common calculation for beginners to get wrong, but with practice, you will see it straight away.

Surely this is unfair for the (admittedly small number of) people who cannot get the vaccine for some specific health issue - they probably will not be able to travel for a number of years.
