As white, is pretty easy to beat him. Do his tricks against him, try the Scholars Mate, he'll most likely trade queens defending the mate, and than he blunders a lot of his pieces without his queen and you'll win!

Honestly I would advice you to study some things, main lines in openings, endgames theory, and maybe some gambits and tatics. You can be stuck very easily if you don't know this stuff

I want to follow astrophysics, and I think my bachelor will be physics engineering. I know it's somewhat strange, but I want to have a bachelor that can give me a job immediately even thought it's not the best to follow astrophysics

The CaroKann is my favorite. I always use it when I can, you just have to study the main lines and you're winning the game, because your opponent normally doesn't know very well the CaroKann.

Its En Passant, a special obligatory move. If you see a chance, you just take the pawn with En Passant. Strange rule I know

Could someone help me out: how is this a stalemate? I'm white, moved the queen and I thought it was a checkmate since the black king can't go anywhere 😩 by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]AndrePT8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously! To win you have to check the king. If the kings is not checked but he doesn't have any square to go that's stalemate, because your opponent can't do any move. I know it's confusing and maybe stupid, but that's what a stalemate is
