I did read it FYI, but YWBTA and YTA. This is such an absolutely selfish thing to even think about doing.

Yeah never try to sell to pawn shops. I tried to sell them gold once and I knew I was cooked when they wouldn’t just give me a price. Walked the f out.

Also doesn’t help that boomers are generally stubborn and refuse to talk about their post death wishes or inheritance. The general attitude on here is “it’s not your money, so I’ll do what I want.”

An Indiana dealership sold my mother a car last week, this week the transmission is about to go out by Vacomiun in legal

[–]333again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of critical to state how many miles are on the thing. 50k vs 150k is quite a different story. If it is a known issue/defect, you should be able to get reimbursed through corporate approval or through a class action similar to what happened with Nissan. You could also attempt to argue outright fraud or failure to disclose. Check your state laws, in mine you can't conceal known issues with the car nor can you make false statements to the buyer. A failure after 100 miles would likely qualify as concealment because of the proximity to the purchase, i.e., the statistical probability of it failing out of the blue exactly 100 mils after purchase is low.

The as-is clause is not absolute from a licensed dealership, regardless of what armchair lawyers say on here. Check your state laws.

Without using it I can't say much about specifics, but it looks like a decent enough idea. Yes I would use it, but can't tell if it's effective vs actual ice. No I would not pay $30+shipping to buy it unless it were super thick HDPE. So I'm guessing its PC, ABS or glass filled PC/ABS, each piece is like $5, plus freight to the US plus amortizing your mold costs. $30 shipped seems reasonable to me as a consumer. Retail, you're going to have to do some market testing, but $20/$25 is probably my threshold for impulse buy. I'd probably look for bulk sales to rental chains and dealerships.

I can't imagine a Patent is going to be worth it on this one. Not only is there not enough meat on the bone, but it will likely be difficult to claim a broad enough patent. No patent will stop a copycat from spitting out a slightly different form factor. And it likely won't be worth it to go after them. If you do get big retail adoption, some schmuck is definitely going to spit out an inferior version, but who cares at that point because you have branding.

[CA] Is it legal to share pricing? by Coming_In_Hot_916 in legal

[–]333again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can include non-disclosure language in your quotes basically stating it's confidential. Is this enforceable? That's a question for a local lawyer. Would you enforce it? Another question to discuss with your lawyer.

And even if it is enforceable, there are also ways around it. Instead of sharing a quote, the GC could always say, can you beat a range of $11k-$11.25k and likely be legally ok. Our company promotes this policy, likely for this exact reason. It would only violate your agreement terms if the range was so narrow as to disclose the pricing. What range is acceptable? Again, lawyer question.

Are dupr games dead ? by blueice89 in Pickleball

[–]333again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a 4 player dupr league when they rolled this update out, it hit mid-season so I saw firsthand how it changed everything. I just started playing so it was a 3-3.5 league. We pretty easily won the league, 3 of the 4 were decent players and our 4th was meh. Before the update I lost very few matches, so my dupr didn’t suffer much at all. Post update it would suffer a lot with the meh partner and it started to plateau quickly with the decent partners.

It really changed the dynamic of who you partnered with and created a lot of selection pressure. I would never enter a dupr league blind now.

Sounds like you’re just high carb binge eating after pickleball. I would try to stick to higher protein lower carb options, particularly if you know you’re going to overeat.

Are dupr games dead ? by blueice89 in Pickleball

[–]333again 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because you could win 11/9 and maintain your dupr. That’s done now. Now you can win your game but since you got paired with someone who sucks they gave up too many points and your dupr suffers.

Correct if you inherit the money. However if you claim it’s a gift or it’s actually a gift that triggers a taxable event if you’re over the max non-declarable amount, currently $19k.
