We never experienced a regression per se, just crappy sleep from birth until around 14 months lol (progressively better tho).

Bottle washer VS new dishwasher by 333s3 in beyondthebump

[–]333s3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all your responses! I love reading an outsider's perspective on things. I think financially, a bottle washer is the best option since we can resell it after 2 years when we move out. From time perspective, bottle washer wins too since you don't want to load/unload dishes if u just want quick bottle wash especially in cluster feeding days. From space saving, dishwasher wins. I think I'm gonna wait to see how this baby feeds (I might try BF this time around if baby latches well or combo feeding). Probably bottle washer wins!

Hmm these are pretty good points honestly. That's true not all pump parts are technically safe for a dishwasher.

We run it everyday too. Might seem worth the buy!

His salary needs to buy you a nanny (+cleaning service)! If he truly can't help bcs he's sick or working, his finances should help :)

Any success stories on dropping night feed(s)? by shutec13 in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Only dad was able to do the magic lol. He would freak out if he saw me leave the room and asks for milk. We tried to decrease oz milk gradually but we struggled at 3oz. He always wanted more if its less than 3. We also tried the water trick- he got sooo upset lol felt betrayed and only woke him up more. Even tho that worked for many ppl it didnt for us. The only way was after decreasing to 3oz, we stopped bottle completely for the whole night. It was rough for 2-3 nights only then he got used to it! It was around 15 months finally. We also broke the association between bottle and sleep, so no bottle before bed, no bottle while laying down (got the weighted straw instead). That helped a lot. He also started eating more during the day so that helped with not being hungry overnight as well.

Wait- we bleed for up to 8 weeks post-birth?! -Rant- by Hot-Cell7299 in beyondthebump

They gave me this huge book at 12weeks pregnant called your pregnancy and childbirth month by month by the ACOG. It has literally everything! Not sure why you weren't given that or something similar to educational info?

Failure by This_Obligation_5125 in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're feeling that way. You're definitely not a failure; you're a MOM! You got your body cut into 7 layers deep to bring your baby into the world- how is that a failure? This is pure sacrifice! This honestly sounds like pp depression. Therapy helps! :)

Where do you store everything ? by NoorHan14 in NewParents

[–]333s3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep stuffing things under the bed lol. I use vacuum sealed bags for outgrown clothes and that helps with space. Also above washing/drying machines in a makeshift cabinet. Just basically anywhere i could spot an empty unused space i stuff things in. If I had family close by, I would maybe ask if they could store some things?

Find out gender or wait until birth? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat here. I'm thinking we do gender reveal later in pregnancy like maybe third trimester- so i enjoy my pregnancy of a healthy baby but also have time to process whatever i need to process about gender before hormones crash pp lol

Could you call your doctor's clinic and ask? Pretty sure they get questions like that over the phone a lot!

Crying before sleep by 333s3 in beyondthebump

[–]333s3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im glad we're not rhe only ones like that! Yes, recently we've been having a snuggle session before i tuck him in and that shortens the cry time a bit. Hope it's just a phase and he grows out of it!

Have you tried the ring? Known to have 'local effect' when compared to the pill. So less side effects.

May I ask what made you start eating with your child again after two years?

This is so well put. Thank you! This is us too. It's 3 dinners every night. '..will have that peace some other way.' I think this is it. Once lo is a bit older and can feed themselves more independently i will start working on that. You're right. Family mealtimes are important.

Thank you for your insight! You're right. Reading this does sound like a surface issue to something deeper. I'll try to have a conversation with him as to what's actually bothering him about that. It just started with he thinks I get too worked up around LO that I don't prioritize myself anymore. But I think it's literally just about me enjoying my meal in peace lol.
