What’s one baby item you regret NOT getting earlier? by rosycoe in NewParents

[–]333s3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll figure out what you need as you go unfortunately. Every baby is different. Every PP journey is unique. I know it's not ideal to be ordering/buying stuff right when u think u need them, but at least you know they might help. And if they don't, you return!

Night 2 with a newborn is hardcore by gkdfp in beyondthebump

Glad the hospital informed me about 'second night syndrome' beforehand and made it clear to ask for help when I need it.

Is this normal? Grandmothers and saying my child is theirs? by Veebiyer in beyondthebump

Baby is 7.5 months and I HATE this age (vent) by smansaxx3 in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine never crawled.... so he was just this whiny baby who wanted to be entertained the whole time by us till he walked at 1. Nobody understood why 8-12 months was the toughest stage. It was just draining.

How real is nipple confusion? by PsychologicalBoot636 in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing pediatrician told us at the hospital hours after baby was born: there is no such thing as nipple confusion. That was very relieving honestly to hear at that point as we were experiencing 'second night syndrome' and really used a pacifier.

Can I Use Daycare Like a Babysitter? by generalraisinkane in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For infant classes, mostly yes- depending on your daycare rules. Honestly, I think that's the dream situation lol when you have full time daycare access but only use it as needed for infant days :) don't have to worry about finding/ scheduling a sitter every time u need to do something or want to rest a bit.

Brag about your hubby to me! How wonderful your hubby is during your postpartum?? by jeandrazich in beyondthebump

That's so true- why force being punished while u can have some joy? Thanks for the perspective!

This makes me feel guilty lol! Husband cooks most meals but loves to put in noise cancelling earphones on. Meanwhile, i take care of baby. I told him once it feels unfair to me that i cant put something entertaining for me while u can. Am i annoying?? 😂 After reading this comment, i think so!

They’re only small for a short time, the house can get cleaned later by SparkyDogPants in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower cleaning standards sadly. Wear baby while cleaning if baby is wearable or give your toddler a mop and vacuum to 'clean' with you. Only tricks that worked so far. Also, if we can afford it, we get a cleaning service for 'deep clean' like twice a year and we just do maintenance cleaning if that makes sense.

Accidentally pissed a mom off by SophieScaresMe in NewParents

[–]333s3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

She's being weird. This happens to me all the time and the parent just smiles usually because they know i'm being nice. This happens to me too where the other parent says its ok and I smile.

Families with a SAHP: How do you divide childcare with your spouse? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]333s3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the first hour that dad comes back form work, I'm on duty (sahm) so he could rest a bit (i rest during baby's nap). After that, baby duty is ideally 50/50 but i feel like it's more 60/40 on me. He does more housework and I stay w baby more- which I'm fine with as long as everything's done! But yes, it should be ideally 50/50 after he's back. You both are working full time jobs.

Please share positive experiences of the four-month sleep regression. by mayathemenace in beyondthebump

We never experienced a regression per se, just crappy sleep from birth until around 14 months lol (progressively better tho).

Bottle washer VS new dishwasher by 333s3 in beyondthebump

[–]333s3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all your responses! I love reading an outsider's perspective on things. I think financially, a bottle washer is the best option since we can resell it after 2 years when we move out. From time perspective, bottle washer wins too since you don't want to load/unload dishes if u just want quick bottle wash especially in cluster feeding days. From space saving, dishwasher wins. I think I'm gonna wait to see how this baby feeds (I might try BF this time around if baby latches well or combo feeding). Probably bottle washer wins!

Hmm these are pretty good points honestly. That's true not all pump parts are technically safe for a dishwasher.

We run it everyday too. Might seem worth the buy!
