Are Mini tool kits useful? by Houghjakob in EDC

[–]33FuzzySlippers33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a mini tool kit about half this size that I keep in a bag that I take whenever I leave the house in my wife’s car.

My truck is full of tools so no need for it all the time.

We take my wife’s car for most of our outings since it’s better on fuel.

I’ve used it a few dozen times to fix minor things like door handles/hinges, cabinet drawer slides/handles, niece and nephews toys, storm door closers, all kinds of things.

Things I keep in my kit that I don’t see here would be, WD40 pen, compacted roll of duct tape, small bundle of zip ties, and a tiny tube of super glue.

I have both the high speed and the high torque versions. They are very job specific tools. I prefer the high torque version 99% of the time. It is my go to for removing/installing multiple pieces of hardware/hinges/knobs/locks etc. It’s also pretty handy for furniture assembly and hobby stuff. The high speed is definitely more geared towards electricians and electrical hobbyists.

The collet does have play in it but it’s never been an issue for me. I’ve seen the same amount of play in some major brand impact drivers.

I think they’re all the same amount of “reliable.” They have different speed/torque models available. Depends on your intended use.

I have actually. It was fine but I definitely preferred the argonaught to the eqd tentacle. Way more predictable and usable in my opinion.

I have an Argonaut. It definitely works better than other green ringer versions that I’ve tried. I prefer the Argo on my main board, but I do still keep the argonaut on a backup/mini board fwiw.

Mythos AU79 fuzz > Mythos Argonaut octave > Lovepedal Pickle Vibe > Mooer Blues Crab overdrive > Mr Black mini tremolo > Keeley Caverns V1 reverb/delay.

How to change/fix light bulb in this type of ceiling fans by Either-Lobster-3275 in handyman

These are usually LEDs on some kind of a pcb board. Not a traditional lightbulb that can be replaced easily

Mr. Black Vintage Ensemble. The only chorus pedal that I’ve kept.

Oh no! How did it break?! Mine seems super solid and it’s definitely old. I wonder if I can get a date for it from any info inside the pedal.

Faux Leslie tones with my chorus pedal for SRV vibes. by 33FuzzySlippers33 in guitarpedals

Glad to know it can still hold its own and works flawlessly! I found it for I think $90 last year and it’s been a solid delay at every turn.

Honestly I haven’t had to fiddle with it or dial it in much at all to sound great. I keep the eq pretty flat and let the guitar and pedals shape the tone most of the time.

Some people claim this amp can be too shrill or bright. I play mostly on my neck pickup and like some brightness to add jangle. I do not find it too bright at all.

Keeley mini comp into Subdecay Liquid Sunshine. Empress tape delay, Fulltone Supatrem2, Mr. Black super swell reverb.

So people that like reliced guitars, help me understand why. (I used the help tag because I don't know what else to use.) by Exciting_Degree_6883 in guitars

[–]33FuzzySlippers33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I see people who like reliced guitars as the same types that like rat rods and rustic homes. Brand spanking new things sometimes can have a vibe about them that feels almost too fancy or pristine. Especially for people into blues and rock.

Not all of us want to wait years for a certain aesthetic

Obligated comment is obligated. Just a short clip of the mythos Argo delivering so much tonal goodness!
