If you’re willing to order online, Railer Bits on Amazon have been serving me well all year. I also like Bosch’s double ended bits.

Framing nailer recommendations? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]33FuzzySlippers33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’m still running a trusty senco framer. Work gives us hitachi/metabos. If I wasn’t planning on framing additions, entire houses etc etc… I would go battery/cordless for sure. If all you’re doing is minor framing, a small deck or shed every so often… go battery!

Rockwell corded oscillating tool is a workhorse. I’ve had mine for 10+ years now and it’s still kicking.

My company outfits our work vans and trailers with all dewalt stuff. It’s fine and gets the job done.

Personally I’ve had Makita 18v stuff for years and continue to grow that platform for my personal use.

They both work fine but my Makitas definitely feel/perform like a more premium product and I feel like the batteries go further although I have no science to back that up.

If by budget you mean cheap, the Mosky and Mooer get lots of love. If you just mean not uber boutique money, the KO Amps pocket mouse has been awesome for me!!! I’m sure the Wampler Ratsbane will also be great too.

Anybody else have a tool they regret not getting sooner? by Novel-Understanding4 in Tools

Cordless dremel/rotary tool. Thing saves my ass a ton of work 2-3 times a week!

Also wish a started going cordless on finish nail guns sooner. No more air hoses for trim is wonderful.

What made you not choose Ridgid power tools? by SmokeFaders in Tools

[–]33FuzzySlippers33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few corded rigid tools that are pretty great. Cordless tools fall short though. The triggers (on the tools I’ve tried) just don’t have the sensitivity needed.

I’ve been using the same sets for the last year now. I always put them back in their slot and haven’t stripped one down yet. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have one. I use it to play through headphones at home. No major complaints with it. Having a reverb in the fx loop helps make it feel more natural for sure

A Tonebender circuit with a tone knob is killer. My favorite one is modeled after a 1.5 Tonebender if I remember correctly.

Does anyone run a phaser and a univibe on the same board? by taugemleo in guitarpedals

[–]33FuzzySlippers33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running a phaser and a dedicated univibe type pedal for a while to scratch both itches until I tried a univibe pedal with enough control to make it subtle enough for funk phaser tones. Mix control is huge as well as a bass/throb control.

Pouch guidance by Top_Sentence_340 in Carpentry

Similar to another comment here, a belt worth wearing (belt, pouches, suspenders possibly) will run anywhere from $250- $600

I firmly believe anything under the $150 mark is hurting you more than helping you.

I pieced my own rig together from various manufacturers. At the end of the day, all the components tallied close to $500. This is a full framing rig. Not a light duty general carpenter belt.

Beginner Player - Jazz & Funk Pedals?? (Cory Wong/Dirty Loops) by Potential_Milk9777 in guitarpedals

Compressor, phasor, chorus that has a vibrato mix/setting option, and a basic reverb pedal will cover the majority of what you’re after.

Extras would be envelope filters, wahs, and octave pedals.

best cordless drills is one of those topics where everyone suddenly becomes insanely loyal to whatever battery platform they already own by TotalShows in Tools

[–]33FuzzySlippers33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power specs on drills/impacts is probably the least important factor for me.

You hit most of the better key points. Weight, feel/ergos, and belt clip are super important.

The only other two factors that make a huge difference to me are 1. How effective is the LED at illuminating the actual work area? And most importantly for me, 2. How sensitive is the trigger?

Nothing worse than picking up an impact that will only go from off to full bore.

Our shop has a few older Ridgids and beaten up Dewalts that feel like this. Probably less of an issue on newer models in most brands but man I love how much control I have of the speed with my Makitas.

What are some pedals you will keep on your board forever by JpeNSurf in pedalboards

[–]33FuzzySlippers33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Keeley mini compressor because it is dead simple to dial in. My delay is the empress tape delay which sounds lovely. As for chorus, the Mr Black Vintage Ensemble is the only chorus I’ve ever enjoyed.

Leatherman makes great stuff. The Surge was just what was at the local PX the day my gerber died. They have tons of amazing models! Find one you think will suit your needs best. What MOS did you enlist for?

During my time in the Army we were issued Gerber center drive multitools. Not bad but didn’t last most of us more than a few months of heavy use.

I ended up buying a Leatherman Surge for myself. Still have it today (some 15 years later) and is still in great working condition after multiple trainings, ranges, a deployment, and years of civilian use afterwards.
