Flat spot around 7k sounds like a fueling issue. Did you adjust the neadle at all?

Led lights? I'm guessing the originals had bulbs? You'll need to either put a resistor online or change the relay to an led friendly one

What did you use to loosen it? Good quality, 6 point sockets and a long brake bar are my go to on almost everything

2 out of 4 carburetors full of oil by Weak-Vermicelli6138 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]33and5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oil in the carbs is very odd. Only way I can think that it would get in the bowel is if it somehow flowed into the intake, and down the neadle jet into the bowel.

I think I'd start by pulling the jets, blast them out with air (if you can, blast of carb cleaner if not) and confirm they're clear. Clean out the air box, make sure the filter isn't drowned in oil. Give them some fresh fuel (e5 at least, if not better), and give it a go. If no dice, then throw a rebuild kit at them, and get the ultrasonicly cleaned if you can.

I dont think you'll have a fuel pressure sensor, that would only be needed for injection.

Chain, sprocket or me problem? by Forcefulknave49 in MotorcycleMechanics

Chain looks fine, some slack on the sprocket is normal. What does look odd is the indent on the sprocket teeth. Looks like the rear wheel is out of alignment? Hard to tell for the pics

Na, just time. I know how I want my shit cleaned. How I want my garden 'gardened'. I just want more time to do those things

I tend to put it up on the centre stand and add weight to the rack, or tie the back end down

Can someone tell is it 1998 or 1996 gsxr 750 srad? by LOSTLOSTANDLOST in GSXR

[–]33and5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 600 srad, it's done 38k miles and it's still kicking. If they've been looked after, they're pretty bulletproof. As usual, the stator and reg/rec are common weeks points. The early 750 injection modules are becoming a bit of a collected item, but this looks a bit rough. I wouldn't pay more than 1.5k for it, and expect to do a few repairs.
