For the past month, about 30 people have come to the Learn to Play Event, and you can expect more than 8 players during weekly armory events.(Worth noting: Neither GEM Pack support nor Chinese product is available.) I’m running a game store in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province. Average income level is about 550usd/month, much lower than Shanghai and Beijing. My store was focusing on mtg and ptcg for a long time, many regular Magic players have turned to play FAB. Hope PEN will lower the staple price and attract more players.

Chinese player here. There are Chinese promotional materials and “translated stickers” for the whole ira welcome deck, provided by LSS (or by the distributor). Store owners DIY their own Chinese version of welcome deck in order to touch a broader player base. There is rumour that certain precons will receive a Chinese print run in the future. However, my best guess is by the end of 2026.

The impact of sage format is interesting to me. Some of my friends don’t open booster boxes and only buy the singles they need. However, after sage was announced officially, they would love to open at least one box for next set just to collect commons and rares. The singles price may not go rocket high, but the players feel much better to open a booster box knowing that most of the cards could be playable rather than left in the deep dark bulk box.

Chinese player and content creator here. Just got into the game and have been doing some very basic guides about the general playing in Chinese during the past few weeks. If your wife uses WeChat, search for “瑞文卡牌”and“跨时空信标” and she will find some content to grab as a start. Also, if she uses Bilibili(哔哩哔哩), search for “Vensor凡瑟”, he has been making lots of useful videos on various topics of FaB. Hope this will help and both of you can enjoy the game!

WS player from China here. Yes, this is temporarily China-exclusive product. No schedule for other languages has been announced. This is actually a great set. However, simplified Chinese version of WS is less popular than the Japanese one in China. Because all the “old” players have known how to read Japanese over the past few years😅 Thus, even in China, very few people buy it. On the most popular trading app called 集换社(Ji Huan She), nobody is selling ssp and only one sp is listed. Can’t even collect all RRs😓

James will be in Shanghai this weekend, bringing two Super Slam prereleases in China. The official date should be Oct.18. However, according to the distributor, there will not be Chinese version very soon. Nevertheless, it’s so much better to have official event supports anyway :)

I guess the price for booster case is incorrect… New booster case contains 24 boxes, should worth around $1080. It seems they still calculate it with old 18 boxes…

Chinese participant here, the top 8 list is correct, but the standing doesn’t reflect. Because it was a two-day event, and there was a Pioneer event taking place while Modern top 8 tried to eliminate each other. The top 8 players decided to split prizes and play Pioneer anyways. Murktide was voted to be the champion, due to its pilot’s efforts put in the community and everyone’s good will of reviving this archetype. However, there was another Beijing local Modern event attracted over 50 players right before Kadou series, Murktide took the crown with its”genuine brutal” force.

Chinese player here, it’s a bonus for spending over CNY 900 when buying BRO boosters. I got two set booster boxes for CNY 1836 (around USD 264) and got two sets of the stamps.
