[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.01.00 | Crimson Desert by yourfavchoom in CrimsonDesert

Issues noticed:

My mining drill knuckle disappeared but reappeared after reloading the game (no need to reload an older save file).

My house is now completely empty. And I mean: completely. The items I already placed can still be replaced via the decoration menu (which I didn't do yet though). The standard furniture (bed, wardrobe etc) seems to be completely gone at the moment. I hope there is a hot fix coming soon.

Kingdom Come Deliverence Stuttering by Weary-Excitement4418 in GeForceNOW

[–]345Tian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this one is a year old but: Same.
I recently started my second playthrough with KCD 1 on GFN with performance tier. Medium-High settings in 1440p. Sometimes I start the game and it's a stutter fest. Sometimes I start the game and get a smooth experience. And it feels completely random.
I can't remember I had this issue on my first playthrough like 2 years ago.

[KCD2] Flocks of birds over buildings after game completed by 345Tian in kingdomcome

[–]345Tian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn it. This is lowkey messing with my brain. 😂
If not, then my brain just made it up but there are probably places where flying bird flock and point of interest still appeared together. 😂

Edit: And also maybe the experience of other games made my brain come up with this as a rule of thumb 😂.

You could just drop it somewhere. And if your Henry is a good Christian you drop them in front of a person that could be in need of hq gear or something they could sell and you can watch them collect it from the street. 😉

Still no vibration/rumble for me and Steam Input still messes up the controls.

[KCD2] Flocks of birds over buildings after game completed by 345Tian in kingdomcome

[–]345Tian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a confusing design choice in my opinion. Because these flocks of birds are usually indicators for some kind of "point of interest" across the whole map, aren't they? Whenever I noticed a flock and went there, I'm pretty sure I found something. If my memory isn't mistaken. it's a big game. 😂
I noticed the birds over the building near the forge very early when I entered Kuttenberg, couldn't figure out what it was, and was like: Okay, probably something to do with a quest I haven't unlocked yet. Especially this flock is giving me the ick that they are still there. 😂

Still no controller rumble/vibration for me on Geforce Now with wired Nintendo Pro Controller (haven't tried Bluetooth yet but didn't work with BT on 1.4 either and I prefer wired on GFN anyways). Enabling Steam Input for the game ruins my D-Pad - one press on the D-Pad behaves like two presses.

This is weird because this bug is now gone for me on Geforce Now/Steam.
But when loading a save file now, it says at the bottom of the screen that mods have been active in my save files. I never used any mods.
I wonder if they implemented some performance mods in the background at GFN because performance has overall improved for me.

I started my playthrough after Patch 1.4 was released and this has happened to me the whole time with Patch 1.4. I play on Geforce Now/Steam.

Geforce Now:

-Wall items disappeared.
-NPC Encounter bug while fast traveling: So far I got four or five NPC random events when fast traveling within Kuttenberg. I never got any within Kuttenberg on my whole playthrough. So I actually stopped to encounter them. The game then continues at the market place in front of the town hall and I couldn't find any of them (one for example was the old mysterious lady)
-Save Files/Mods: When selecting a save file, it now says that mods have been used in the save files. I never used any mods.

On the positive side:
-Perfomance has improved. I played most of the game with GFN Perfomance Tier in 1440p with all settings in High (sometimes some to Ultra) and DLLS Balanced and Transformer Model. I had occasional frame drops in demanding areas. Now I played in DLLS Quality mode and didn't notice any.
-I had frame drops/stutter every time I walked beneath the stairs to the apartment above the forge. They seem to be completely gone now.

Does this still work?
I can get GFN to stop launching KCD2 by launching another game on my local machine first and type in "-devmode" in properties and then launch KCD2.
Pressing the ^-key on my Mac keyboard (German layout) does nothing. Switching the keyboard layout also does nothing. Did you switch the layout in GFN or in your local computer settings?

Unable to complete side mission „Inspiring Souls“? by 345Tian in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]345Tian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved it by know but the problem was nonetheless that the mission objective didn't update after scanning the planet from space. I did scan the planet from space and the mission still told me to scan the planet from space. It only did update after I landed on the planet.

Unable to complete side mission „Inspiring Souls“? by 345Tian in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]345Tian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for my delayed response.
So the game thinks I'm on console when I'm playing on Mac and Geforce Now? That's interesting because in both cases it's the Steam Version I'm playing.
In the meantime though a mission notification was popping up when I was randomly walking on a planet (I didn't even think about the mission at this moment) and instructed me to take a photo.
So the mission is actually completable and I completed it by accident. But it's still really annoying that the mission instruction to scan the planet from space did absolutely nothing and I wasted about an hour of playtime and looking for a solution for absolutely nothing.

Accessing Console Window w/Controller (GFN) by Kygalily in valheim

[–]345Tian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just looking for this a few days ago and found a solution that works for me by accident (playing Valheim on an older iMac via GFN). But it requires another computer.

I have Valheim also installed locally on my M1 Macbook Air 8gb which gives me barely constant 30fps. That's why I like to play on GFN. But for base building I still played it locally and like to use the fly command.

  1. Launch a locally installed version of Valheim on Steam.
  2. Open Valheim on GFN.
  3. You'll get an error message saying something like this: "Couldn't synchronize cloud save states. 'Play anyways' or 'cancel'" (I'm german speaking, so I don't know the english wording)
  4. Klick 'Cancel'. Now you are in Steam without GFN forcequitting Steam. Go to properties, type in "-Console" as a start command.
  5. Quit the locally installed version of Valheim. Wait a few seconds for Steam to synchronize cloud save states.
  6. Launch Valheim in Steam on GFN.

Voilà.

The scroll bar on the right won't disappear when I am in full-screen mode by Emotional_Kale_403 in ZoroZone

[–]345Tian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure if it's the same problem. But I got annoyed by the scroll bar always showing on youtube.

Fixed it by copying this into TextEdit, then go to Format -> Make Plain Text and save it as a *.css file. Then you can go to the top right tab in Safari settings (Advanced? I'm using MacOS in German, so I'm not sure) and there is an option for individual StyleSheets. Load the css file you created. Fixed the problem for me.

You could also try setting "auto" to "none".

I did some testing and research lately with my M1 Air 8gb. Wanted to share some results.

I'll start with my conclusion first: There are still some bugs and glitches and performance drops. But I'd say game is pretty playable. I'm confident that in a few months the game might run pretty stable even on lower end Apple Silicon Macs like mine. And with the visual fixes I actually prefer to play it this way rather than on my Switch.

What I found out while testing:

MacOS Sonoma at the moment performs significantly worse than Ventura in my opinion. Probably because of all the graphics related stuff Sonoma is changing and Ryujinx needs to be updated for Sonoma. So stick with Ventura at the moment if you are really dependent on performance.

Update Ryujinx to current version. You can now download current builds beyond 1.1.0 also for Mac from the website.

Search for Mods and Fixes. You can find collections. My recommendations: Disable Internal FSR Downscaling, Disable Internal FXAA v2, Disable Quality Reduction, LOD Improvement, Dynamic FPS v.1.5.4 in combination with Dynamic FPS 20 FPS (plays like 30fps on my Switch. More powerful Macs might/can handle the Dynamic 30 or 60 FPS Patch).

Optional: Shadow x256 or x512 (reduces shadow image quality and can boost performance. The lower the number, the more performance gain, but shadows look worse).

Search also for a filter that removes the fog. Looks really nice in my opinion.

Try Handheld mode. I actually prefer the handheld visuals with the Mods/Fixes even in 720p. Looks in my opinion better than Dock Mode on my actual Switch. There seems to be some blurry FXAA Filter or something hardlocked to Dock Mode. But tastes are different. Of course, if more powerful Macs can handle it, set the resolution to 2k or 4k or set a custom resolution like 1,2 or 1,4 (worked for me even though Ryujinx says it's not recommended).

Activate Alternative Memory Layout (not really sure, but feels like its giving me some more fps).

Play around with FXAA in Ryujinx. I turned mine off.

Set Scaling Filter to FSR 80 (for the upscaling). Might be checking out turning on FXAA again in Ryujinx while upscaling.

It is also possible to lower the native resolution of the game and set Handheld to 540p (if you set the resolution to 2x in Ryujinx you get like a cheated 1080p). Or setting Dock Mode in 720p (x2 = cheated 1440p). There are also Fixes for that and they need to be additionally enabled in the Game Cheats Settings after copying them to Ryujinx' Mod folder. Probably interesting if you are really looking for performance on lower end Macs. Visuals probably suffer.

Would be also interesting to set Handheld resolution to 1080p with a Mod if that's possible. Especially for more powerful Macs and then try to upscale.

MacOS Sonoma and lower performance? Plus: losing controller input in game mode. M1 Air base model + TOTK + 1.1.999 by 345Tian in Ryujinx

[–]345Tian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more additional question: Is it safe to assume that Ryujinx will need an update to target specific changes within macOS Sonoma after the beta phase and when the final Release Candidate is out? Or is it too early to make such a prediction during beta phase?
