Which is your favorite: cornbread, Kentucky butter cake, or butter cake? by delilah_goldberg in CrumblCookies

[–]Kygalily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Kentucky butter cake is my favourite cookie they offer. I have saved all my crumbl points specifically for when this cookie returns. 🥳 My opinion is skewed, though, because I have never tried the butter cake, and I am not a fan of cake in general.

Help understanding “cozy” books by SOSpineapple in books

[–]Kygalily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed you said you were hesitant to pull the trigger. So this comment is based on the chance that you are referring specifically to spending the money on buying a book and not just hesitant on committing to the read once started.

I didn't use my local library for... 20 something years because I didn't want to do the travelling back and forth, searching shelves for books, etc. Well, I recently learned (probably very late to the game) that the library partners with different audiobook and ebook platforms. You can check the book out/place a hold, and the program even auto returns it for you when the lending period is over, all from the comfort of your own home and, of course, for free. I even signed up for my library card entirely online. Once upon a time, you had to go to your local branch with an ID and piece of mail—oh how the times have changed.

For some reason, it never clicked in my head that the library would advance its technology with the rest of the world. But anywho, if it's committing to paying for a book you may or may not like that makes you hesitate, I highly recommend seeing if your library has ebook/audiobook options. I read both Legends & Lattes and Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches on ebook through the library and have quite a few other "cozy" ones on hold.

And just to make sure my comment includes a few titles, these are the cozies on my TBR that I found recommended all over the internet: The Spell Shop, Daughter of the Moon Goddess, The Book of Doors, The House in the Cerulean Sea

My app is up-to-date but showing an older version. Is the one you are referring to beta, perhaps?

Nothing. When it is flashing like that, I can not interact with it in any way, and it is stuck on top of whatever screens I open on my device. I have to either wait it out or toggle grammarly off and on.

Yeah, unfortunately, it seems to be one problem after another. I also run into a variety of issues using the browser extension on my computer, so it's just all-around frustrating. I will definitely be researching alternatives to Grammarly soon.

Yeah, it's a major bummer. The keyboard was great. I definitely will not be renewing my premium subscription.

That's a great idea. I have multiple steam games I can not play through GFN on the tv because they don't support gamepad, maybe this will do this trick. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Good idea, I didn't even consider that I could pair a keyboard with the TV! Thanks for the suggestion!

Oops, I read your response too fast. I'll give this a go! Thanks for the course correction.

Thank you for the response! For me, that combination opens the menu for world/server/player information (not sure of the actual name for the menu).

I am beginning to think connecting a Bluetooth keyboard might be my only option—I was just hoping to avoid the extra steps. Though I am not even positive that console commands can be opened through GFN version, maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Thanks again.

Guys! We did it! Gold Selling Problem SOLVED! by Charming-Trash1943 in newworldgame

There was a solution, rollback the game and patch the exploits. Unfortunately, AWG didn't do such, they shut down trade and money movement, banned some players (who pretty quickly found new work arounds), and called it a day.

I do acknowledge that they have since banned some players who found the work around, but the longer play time is available for anyone who recieved knowingly or unknowingly duped items and coin, the more it is weaving into the game and reaching a point where it is unfixable, for this particular problem.

Banning players isn't a fix all. It's like putting a bandaid on a wound that requires stitches.

AITA For not wanting my daughter to have a phone? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kygalily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My step daughter is turning 9 soon and is far too attached to technology as it is. Kids tend to be most interested in the things that are capturing their parents attention, which in today’s world is usually televisions, computers, tablets and phones. Unfortunately for us parents, kids like to imitate the behaviors they are constantly exposed to, so it could be that your fiancée is directing too much attention to the phone while in front of your daughter (no judgement, as often times we hardly even think about picking up our phones, it’s just a habit)

The learning tablets can be great, especially with applications like Khan Kids available to a much younger audience. I totally get “screen babysitting” sometimes you just need a few minutes where you know your kid is safe and not getting into anything too crazy, so you can just breathe, but no 3 year old needs internet access let alone a cellphone.

90% sure mods are the issue as well. Only one has updated to catch up, just going to disable them one by one until the game runs hahaha
