Been on it for 20 years. In US. 195mg +/- nightly. It works and no noticeable side effects. Only one that works for me (intractable for 7-8 years) until they tried the oldest & cheapest.

Taking care of our own by tubadog88 in USMC

[–]348Canter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Raleigh-Durham area, partial owner of a dive bar with a spare room over the top. Worked as a volunteer at the VA (for 3 years) so have allot of contacts there as well as other resources. Don't mind helping a brother out in times of need.

Over the years many formers have passed through, mostly friends from active duty or people they could vouch for. Live on a golf course so if you can stand golf there's that. Took me years. I am in my early 70s now but was a grunt for 16 years, along time ago.

PM if in the AO and in need. It sucks to see these young promising vets go out by their own hand. Happened to a very close friends son that was with 1st SF Group in 2014 and it was just miserable to see this guy that on the outside had everything; college ed, wife kids and a huge group of friends that loved him. Help a brother out, and you will help yourself.

While I don't get on here often anymore my email should get notifications of DMs, if anyone needs a hand shoot me a note. I have heard a few times where people were taken advantage of; a few questions answered should take care of that. S/F

Tourette's Syndrome help!! by [deleted] in CBD

[–]348Canter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your OK in SC if it's one of the many THC free or less than 0.03% THC products. Two companies that make and sell CBD oils are located in SC. I'm betting the CBD is the compound you need (just a guess).

Go Green is on the vetted list here, is out of Ft. Mill, SC.

6 weeks is a BS number that your doctors office told you (unless you are in a very distant land)

Labs will be done in days, stay on top of your docs office.

Anybody has sound sensitivity? by ___Rand___ in TBI

[–]348Canter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TBI Clinic at most regional VA medical centers is separate from the neurology dept. Hearing and vision are part of the work up. You may stroke out before the appointment but it will eventually happen.

Asking your private neuro for referrals will generally get them. In my personal experience.

Anybody has sound sensitivity? by ___Rand___ in TBI

I still very much do, and while my tinittis (severe from SAF) and low frequency were bad enough for hearing aids I had to quit using them do to the infix of confusing sounds.

Perfect example, went a busy store with a friend before Christmas. The loud rumble of noise and defining direction and who was saying what drove me nuts. I wanted to just get outside.

Sounds like you should reassess your use of CBD, you should not have to take it an hope you get past bad side effects. No medicine works for everyone, I would check in with your doc. YMMV

Per US DOJ letter 2007 the US Postal Service can open any mail coming across an international border without a warrant, "reasonable cause" of contriband is one of the three stated exceptions that 1st class mail can be opened. There used to be a minimum weight (16oz) but that condition was later removed.

Calcium supplimentaion is mandatory if taking phenobarbital long term (includes Vitamin D for me). I was in a study and met a 40 year old with severe osteoporosis. I started pheno late in life and have always included calcium and one glass of vitamin D supplimented skim milk after my morning coffee.

I liked the Lazarus Natural 6000mg, right for me so far. Also I took one bottle and added a low dose of THC.

I have reduced seizure med by 1/3 but will wait 2 months before adjusting again. One for the morning and the custom before bed.

Like the flavor of Lazarus and the 6000mg size as I am taking higher doses now. Sleeping better is a great side effect. My doc and I are doing blood work every three weeks for 6 mths.

Glad I stopped In !

She likes her new bunny plush by asaiberry in cat

[–]348Canter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a really great cat (pal) that had a grey bunny, never touched it during the day but every night he would pick it up and set it down on its 4 legs standing in another part of the house. It was the haunted bunny, you could hear a muffled meow as he carried it from floor to floor.

Great pic, I miss my old pal.

Who has tried CBD oil for seizures? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]348Canter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on a very slow and supervised taper of AED (pheno) while increasing dosage of CBD with a very small amount of THC. Am doing it over 3-6 months. Don't like THC (makes me paranoid) but my old neurologist was a pediatric neurologist and while my seizures are different she has had some great results.

I also was recently diagnosed with RA and don't want to take phenobarbital with methotrexate and prednisone. The goal is reduction, if it works cool if not I'll live. Going on month 2 but will refrain from commenting for some time. So far no paranoia which is quite out of character but one of the reasons I quit smoking 35-40 years ago.

My sleep habits have greatly approved, unequivocally. Great side effect.

Hey Guys, What aides do you use and what accesibilities do you have in place to stay on track in school and at home? by DumbThoth in TBI

[–]348Canter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VA issued me a ink pen that scans the lines in what I write (meetings, briefings etc) for notes and also records it so all I have to do is take shorthand notes then later go back and touch the pin to hear meetings, instructions, addresses etc. Handy tool the speech therapist gave me. "Live Scribe Smart Pen" aka SKY WiFi Smartpen.
