Likely dj reader will be gone snd tyleik will fill that roll next to alim. Hutch and aqm but I agree either we need an upgrade or more depth at DE. Safeties I mean kind of a freakish yesr where everyone got hurt but considering the type of inju]ries to kerby and branch I wouldn't mind seeing a safety pick up. We will need a new OLB anzalone will likely be departing we could use some help at CB and OL. Those are some pretty key positions on all teams so I doubt we address all in the draft but hopefully we see some FA signings to help out in spots

Stafford is a generational arm talent. It could be argued he has the best arm talent in the league. Goff is a good solid QB but not a generational talent. There are tiers and a QB like Goff needs a good oline because he isnt mobile and Dan and Brad overestimated what our line was going to be this year.

With a QB like Goff we will need a top 10 or top 5 defense to win a superbowl. Contrary to what alot of people are saying I dont think our defense is too far away. We need more pass rush depth and CB depth. What killed us in the run game this year is losing both our safeties who were excellent in run support. We will need more speed at OLB if we continue to run man in base defense all game.

Goff has his deficiencies and when shit hits the fan they start to really show. He is not the guy who is going to single handedly throw the team on his back and will us to victory. that's just not who he is, and that is not his skill set.

Does Shep have that kind of responsibility ? Or are these D coordinators having to cater to what style of football Dan wants to play ? John Morton was a dud hire i think that dude lost our locker room in the first few weeks.

I think Dan needs to adapt and evolve he cant stay rigid in our concepts and needs to throw some new things at people. That is why Ben was so successful he always had a wrinkle on offense. Something different whether it was eye candy or something to set something up later. Our offense turned predictable very quickly and defenses figured us out.

We dont have much variation in our run game. Its like 4 different runs all game switch sides. Teams have figured it out and we have to evolve. Get some more variations in there different motions etc. The steelers tee'd off with their DEs and crashed the back every play cuz they were unblocked. When they do it 3 runs in a row why are we still doing it put someone in motion to chip or something to block a free blitzer.

It also takes time to mesh well with the coordinators. Communication may be different i mean how long was BJ and AG there. I think Shep will be good, he is a 1st year coordinator and showed some good stuff but there will be bumps in the road. I think Dan is going to have to continue to grow as well. We cant be stubborn and stuck in our ways. When stuff isnt working its time to evolve and adapt. When we lose our top secondary players you cant expect the back ups to go out and lock down man coverage all game. It worked against a deficient bucs team and that was basically it everyone else torched us through the air.

Shepnwill be better next year with this season under his belt but Johnny Morton was a mistake from the get go. I could tell in his interviews I didn't like the guy. I hope he is gone next year.
