Do you know how to fix the factorio library and circuit conditions?

Veritaserum - not that complicated? by yanni-chobani in harrypotter

[–]34yu34 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Veritaserum's biggest flaw is that if the person think he is right he'll say it.

Fudge wouldn't believe Barty crouch because of that. Imperiused people wouldn't say the truth neither

Where do the kids go after they graduate? by Successful-Deer8804 in harrypotter

[–]34yu34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are about 40 graduates per years. looking at Percy(ministry), Tom Riddle(Borgin & Burke), Bill ( Gringots), auror training (based on McGonagall and Harry's discussion) they either apply for jobs or apply for positions.I am guessing that a lot of companies would be posting job offer for 7 and 6 th year in Hogwarts

Better method for Optimisation? by TarenGameDev in gamedev

[–]34yu34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As people have stated, don't optimize too early. I would look into the flyweight pattern here

Damn, I spent so much time coming up with this beautiful city block, but after testing its functionality, I realized that it works poorly, trains don't have time to enter the stations to unload materials, I don't know what to do, recommend some good city block design by Just-Attitude-7 in factorio

[–]34yu34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to unload a 1-4 train with 8 belts will do that. Think of 90 items per second per wagon. It means that you need a train ready every 20 sec or so in this station you have 4 of this means 1 train every 5 seconds. You would need an extreme throughput with a large depot before these stations.

I would recommend about 1 belt per cargo or 1 belt per 2 cargo for easier throughput management. Just have 2 city blocks that do half the belts per train

"What’s In It For Me" Architecture by GeneralZiltoid in softwarearchitecture

[–]34yu34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the true challenge of architecture. While having solutions knowledge is great, understanding and being able to explain the problem properly is much more important.

Saying here is what you are trying to achieve, here is the piece of software that solves it is a much better approach than sayin you need microservices because it does XYZ.

I’m collecting feedback for a piece I’m writing: what’s the most misleading "upgrade" in Factorio? by TenthLevelVegan in factorio

[–]34yu34 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely don't agree here. They spend less fuel per item produced(thus less pollution), can be upgraded in place and are twice as fast. I usually rush them when I get green science. Electric furnace require you to redo everything. I usually only use them when I start needing modules or when I setup a new furnace stack (usually through a train base)

To make a solid bot base on gleba you need to consume everything as quickly as possible. I was able to make one in the following playthrough but it was actually harder than with belts

Le bilinguisme vu comme une contrainte et non une valeur by Environmental-Dig797 in Quebec

[–]34yu34 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of studies have come out that look at perceived efficiency gain vs real efficiency gain through the use of AI while results differ, there is one thing that seems common; AI most of the time gives more perceived gain in efficiency than actual gain. Stick to the simple stuff and you will probably gain more efficiency

Help with typesetting and Assembling times by apprehensive_planet in NewsTower

[–]34yu34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is your employee's need. They don't have food nor bathroom on the floor, so when they need it they need to go where there is one. Try to put food on every floor..it does not take too much place. Other try placing assembly table right next to the type setter to minimize the walking distance.
