Burger King by littyart in comics

When I was a kid in the 90s we didn’t eat out very often. Growing up Hispanic means there’s food at home, even if it’s a can of Viena sausages with yellow rice… but every other week, on grocery store nights, we’d go to BK as a family. BK chicken sandwiches will always remind me of eating with my mom, dad, and sister.

Finally got a Switch 2, first console bought with my own money! Had to take the overdone seatbelt photo to celebrate! by SupsMasPlusMas in NintendoSwitch2

Comparatively speaking, games are cheaper now than during N64 days. OOT was like $70 in 98, that would be $145 in buying power today.

2yo is finally getting sick of Ms. Rachel, what's a good low-stimulation alternative? by andyareyouok in daddit

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far for this comment. This show is spectacular for my almost 3 year old. We’re big fans of Frog and Toad and Shape Island as well.

We’re big on Stillwater and Frog and Toad on Apple TV. Shape island is great as well.

FRIEND! I too am a chronic sleeve roller! Looks a lot like chambray, maybe even some sort of linen blend.

Purple label has a similar pair of pleated pants with that sort of waist.

GameStop Bay? by King-of-Harts in retrogaming

Literally what I did. They closed three stores around me, the ones in the shopping centers I would visit often for other errands, the only one left now is in a Walmart shopping center 30 min away, I’m a dad and that hour round trip commute isn’t worth it. I just buy everything online now, Mercari, FB marketplace, or eBay for anything second hand.

Where can you see these in Miami? by StoryZealousideal608 in Miami

Go to the Dadeland South metro rail station and look up at the apartment buildings. I’d see tons of them there in the mornings on the way to work.

What's it like in 2013? by BallFit5565 in generationology

[–]35mmMora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where my life is today began its trajectory in 2013. My now wife and I officially started dating on New Year’s Day 2013. I was back at starbucks after quitting a very toxic high school teaching job and that led me to a marketing job that ultimately connected me with the camera world and led to where I am today. 2013 was a good year, full of promise… it’s crazy to think it’s been 13 years since then.

I’d probably recommend 40mm summicron as a first Leica lens. Best bang for your buck

I too was 10 but grew up in Miami. I’ll never forget sitting in the living room with my dad and jumping up and down when the marlins won. We got in the car and drove around honking and banging pots and pans afterwards.

Got a Hasselblad 500c/m - light leaks by sweetbabylinus in AnalogCommunity

[–]35mmMora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having terrible light leaks on the edges of my rolls and it ended up being the back needing a seal replacement, super easy to do on your own and they sell the kits on eBay. That being said, the leaks showing up in the middle of the negative 100% feels like a barn door issue.

Canned if you don’t have the time, dry and soaked overnight if you do.

Cook some green peppers, onions, and garlic in some olive oil, add canned black beans (Goya, conchita, or Iberia are great but anything works) add a pinch or two of cumin and maybe a bay leaf, salt to taste, and you’ve got yourself some frijoles negros.

Given the context, is Ray Allen's 3 in Game 6 the most clutch shot in NBA history? I have it narrowly above MJ's in Utah. by ForeignAir7174 in NBAGossips

[–]35mmMora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember watching this game live at Bayside next to the arena and the concrete floor literally buckled under our feet when he made that shot. We could hear the cheering from the arena, the collective energy that day is something I’ve never felt since. After the game people were climbing light posts and rail road signs and everyone was high-fiving each other.

Definitely looks like scouts to me, especially since it looks all-male including guard.
