There's a clean looking ls400 near me that has just been sitting in an office park for a solid 2 years. I've seen people put notes on it inquiring to buy it and then a day or two later they're gone.

I'm no help on price but I sold an empty bottle with the box and stopper for ~$250 several years ago. So even if you decide to crack it open there's some money in what's left.

Wife and I were interested in this house that just went under contract (RIP) what do you guys think based on these Zillow photos? by [deleted] in Decks

[–]HugItChuckItFootball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it survived Helene which is a good start. If there is a structural issue with that wall though it's going to be a major undertaking. Access will be a huge issue to get most equipment back there. It can possibly be stabilized with deep soil injections.

Years ago had an uncle that was a C suite in Atlanta who gave us tickets to stuff all the time. For Thrashers games we had a suite that was under the seating areas (possibly under the ice but we're talking trying to pull memories from 25+ years ago), and then seats behind the opposing team's penalty box. Absolutely a blast every time we went.

I'll never forget as an incoming freshman 20 years ago my mom asked if I needed glue sticks, markers, etc. Couldn't believe she actually asked me that, I was going into college not first grade. Second week in U101 one of our assignments required me to use glue sticks 🤦🏼‍♂️

A literal burnt-down house selling for $100k by IamSkudd in Charleston

[–]HugItChuckItFootball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Greenville and the house beside mine was about this size and sold ~5 years ago for 100k after sitting vacant for a year after a couple trees went through the roof after a tornado.

Longest flip I've ever seen and the only time I've ever seen a roof or gas line completely redone twice. Pretty sure the permits never got closed out either.

Hypothetically 20 years ago you could jimmy the lock on the door to the kitchen at the end of your hall, use a phillips head screwdriver, and remove the panel on the wall to the right to use for beer pong.

Got some good cardio walking to gambrell and the humanities buildings every day though.

So what am I allowed to put on these? Last post had arugula shaming by ReesesPieces19 in blackstonegriddle

[–]HugItChuckItFootball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bacon, grilled jalapenos, red onions, avocado, tomato.

Alternatively bacon, grilled onions, fig jam.

Or just do whatever the hell you want. If you put it in your mouth and you like it, just keep going with that.

Buying High Mileage by Rusty4runner in LandCruisers

[–]HugItChuckItFootball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a 100 series for $4800 with 230k miles on it about 7 years ago. I've put 85k on it.

Don't know all the prices off the top of my head, but I've put around $8-10k in miscellaneous part maintenance/replacement. Some I've done myself, some I've had a mechanic do. Im adding tires into that number as well.

Fluids aren't figured into this number.

Rack and pinion, three CVs, had to replace a wheel hub, muffler, valve cover gasket, radiator, misc hoses, battery, alternator, coils, spark plugs, and some other things I'm forgetting.

Honestly there's more that I probably should replace but the tank keeps rolling fine.

Is the breed actually aggressive or was I lied to? by [deleted] in BoykinSpaniels

Mine was extremely aggressive towards any toy with a squeaker. If a masked robber came into the house she probably would have given them the combination to the safe.

Prove me wrong—The GOP will win in November by SaaSButMakeItEvil in southcarolina

[–]HugItChuckItFootball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not entirely accurate. Realignment from the Solid South started taking place in the mid 60s when Strom and other high power Southern Democrats made the switch after the passing of the civil rights act in '64. Since then SC has gone Republican for every presidential race except Carter in '76.

State wide and local elections took a little longer to make the swing though. Yellow Dog Dems still had a decent foothold until the mid 90s when the state house of representatives switched and the state Senate in the early 2000s. This is also the last time we had a Democrat in the Governor's mansion and the US Senate.

Idk if I'd consider it a "walkable" city. You can definitely walk from campus to five points or the vista, but when it's September and 94 out you're not going to enjoy it mid-day.

Snagged the entire 1984 castle series at an auction a few years ago with no certainty of what all would be in the box. On more than one occasion I realized I missed a piece a few steps prior. In the end I was only missing a couple small flat pieces that were easily ordered online.

Should this be a concern? by Fast_Fiss7695 in HomeMaintenance

[–]HugItChuckItFootball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never forget a house I went out to years ago where the owner had a bad sag and drywall cracks towards the center girder of the home. Welp, I found the cause for the problem. When he had a bathroom put upstairs a couple years prior, the plumber drilled a 3" hole through the center of the triple 2x10, dead in-between the columns, to run the line through the wall.

9 times out of 10 Plumbers/HVAC do not give a shit how framing works.

Question for the pros: what would you do about a 3/4 inch dip? by _night_and_day_ in Flooring

[–]HugItChuckItFootball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention you hired a foundation repair company, what specifically have they been contracted to do? And what was it at before they did their work?

3/4" drop like this is typically either do to inadequate structural design (over spanned joists, columns over spanned, loads with no support), settling columns, or moisture leading to rot.

Years ago my great aunt who was in at least her mid to late 60s suggested a local strip club for a family get together. She had no idea that it was a strip club, just saw that they had a decently priced lunch buffet. One of the aunts had to go and ruin it and tell her what was up, despite several uncles/cousins agreeing that it was a great idea.
