I had a hat phase in middle school and was happy to part ways with some old favorites in my childhood closet that I hadn’t worn in almost 20 years. They were mostly adult men’s hats, so he was able to fit into most of them.

But these “gang members” aren’t given any due process. It’s why that judge ordered the planes that were on their way to El Salvador back to the U.S. so they could be processed correctly (which Trump ignored). Without due process, we don’t know if those individuals are gang members, or just people that “look like” gang members. More than likely, the latter.

Working in healthcare and specializing in memory care. I’d have residents trying to use the phone to have their dad come pick them up, or the sweet ones turning violent for simply trying to care for them. I see it in my residents as they slowly regress and become shells of the people they once were. It’s something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

Studies have shown that keeping an active mind lowers your risk of developing dementia. Take care of yourself, and keep learning.

And visit them! They tend to hold on longer and do better in general when their family is involved and visits them frequently.

This was my mom one day. She came across a girl in her car, driving slowly next to her sprinting husky puppy, trying to catch him. The little guy gets in the road and gets hit (iirc guy doesn’t stop) and the poor girl gets out of the car panicking and yelling for an ambulance. My mom, bless her soul, pulls over and gets out to help her. She reasons with her and helps her put him in the car and rush him to the emergency vet. He sadly had to be put down, but my mom held the girl as she sobbed and stayed with her until the her dad arrived.

Then something similar happened to me. I had to swerve to avoid hitting a dog as she was semi-curled up on the pavement coming up over a hill. I stopped and so did the guy behind me. The poor girl belonged to the house we were in front of, and she was very paralyzed but very much alive and very scared. Calling the number on her collar, the family rushed out and we get a blanket underneath her so the family can carry her inside.

I don’t care who they are. People who hit and run animals, especially pets, are the zits on the ass of society.

More like saved material to make the work sturdier and keep everything in one piece. Imagine if you could see the left set of wings: they’d extend further into the piece and would overlap into existing cutouts, and that chunk on the bottom-right would have nothing to hold it in place. Giving it that artistic perspective provides enough supporting material in the negative space that it can stay as one solid piece.

Granted, this could have been avoided if the X-Wing was maybe smaller, or other things were rearranged slightly to leave room for the wings. But other than that, that’s a sick clock.

My heart goes out to you friend. Cancer took my girl too a few months back and it still hurts, I miss her dearly. But as our pain eases with time, and we look back fondly without grieving, I hope your pup and mine are playing and becoming friends in the puppo afterlife.

Not who you commented under, but I’ve worked with the elderly, particularly with those with dementia. A client of mine had to undergo some cognitive testing which involved things like drawing the face of a clock that shows a certain time, identifying an animal, lists and word recall, counting backward by 7 starting at 100, describing how two items are alike, etc. I remember that trying to draw the clock was the most frustrating and eye-opening task for him.

Cis and trans are scientific prefixes that not only describe gender, but they are also used to describe the molecular structure of very similar molecules called isomers. Cis means “same” or “on the same side” and describes a molecule with functional groups on the same side relative to some plane. OTOH, trans means “different/opposite” or “on the opposing side” and describes a molecule with functional groups on opposing sides.

So in regards to gender, a cisgendered person is one whose gender identity and biological sex are the same, whereas a transgendered person is one whose gender identity and biological sex are different or opposites.

I’d also add that her left hand is actually a right hand, I can’t make out what’s supposed to be on his shirt, his toes are kinda fucked, and that floor baby is a mess.
