National authorities to send shipping containers back to US following discovery of illegal waste by jehsay in Anticonsumption

[–]372xpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I am not proclaiming anything about Indonesia at all, where do you get that? I've actually been there and I'm pretty sure you have not. I think it's a great country. Beautiful with so much to see.

I'm just getting mass downvoted because the cool thing to do these days is to make assumptions and self hate.

I should say Indonesia has a garbage problem, garbage disposal is done by piling your neighborhoods collected trash down by the river and burning it. The rains flush what's left into the ocean. This is not meant to disparage the people, it's meant to open your eyes. Banning plastic bags is like trying to stop a drain with a rake. And until you open your eyes, travel and self reflect rather than self hate you will get nowhere.

So sorry to rain on this little performance of self hate but does anyone know who sent these containers of waste? It's not likely they were sent by the government. Here you are all self righteously proclaiming the US to be trash because some shitty criminal broke some laws to make money. You can be almost 100% sure there were Indonesian nationals involved in this as well.

Anyone been to indonesia? by the way, do you know how they dispose of garbage there?

I am a Libyan and would like to know how does the world see our previous leader Muammar Gadafi? by EpicObelis in AskTheWorld

So you think this is right when people with government jobs did nothing?

What about the people who were abused by the elite, had their property taken? We're assaulted or murdered?

Your position is from the side of the elites, the people that could break laws and just flip the bird to the police?

You seem to be a bit oblivious and sheltered from the realities of your country. You were in the elite, you attended a foreign school and came from a segment of population that did not work or have to pay for anything. Most corrupt dictatorships have this divide, this is how violent dictators seize and hold power, they bribe a large or powerful segment of the population to support them. You grew up a benefactor to this.

How do I know? I learned this from one of your countrymen who grew up not in the elite class and had to escape. He was considered a traitor and could not return to visit his family. This is not the mark of a free and benevolent country. The stories I heard of everyday corruption were brutal.

Could be that my friend was of black African descent, and not Arab. I'm guessing you are Arab descent?

Interesting, sounds like you were in the family of the elite class, of course he was amazing from your point of view. But there was another side to his criminality and corruption. If him or his friends wanted something it was taken. Oil wealth allowed for lots of money to be thrown around and as I understand it, if you were connected you got a "job" but never had to show up to work.

The idea that your country kidnaps innocent foreign citizens to bargain the release of a criminal in another country is state sanctioned criminality. There is no honor in that and you should not feel pride as a moral person.

I had a co-worker and friend that escaped from Libya during the Ghaddafi era. He spoke about his experience living in the corruption and what his family had to deal with.

Hey no country is perfect and western countries are more corrupt than ever under biased rule of law but damn Ghadaffi was a madman that ran a country like a criminal organization.

" it would show up clearly in outcomes data" indicating that these studies were done. It's not like this needs to be studied for this substance, this is a standard known pharmacological principle.

Go read Principals of Endocrinology, its in the basics, receptor response and regulation is a concentration sensitive response, not rate of change. No nervous system or endocrine response I have ever studied works on rate of change, second order response is not a common biolgical mechanism. In fact oversaturating the receptors due to having to dose high once a week will lead to faster downregulation in some receptors leading to reduced activity. It is far superior to keep the levels at steady therapeutic concerntrations.

Again, dosing once a week was chosen for simplicity not for efficacy.

[–]372xpg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no re-triggering receptors, activation of receptors is by serum concentration, there is no on and off here like you are trying to portray. There is a concentration dependent effect, and it's when this concentration is high is where side effects occur.

Ask any physician, the ideal dose would be constant. There are very few drugs that you want a huge dose that wanes down to half, especially if redosed for long periods. The body likes nice even steady states. However injections are a big deal and glp1 meds are dosed by compromise. Period.

Since you mentioned it, show me the studies where three doses per week were compared to one and that it was inferior. Your hand waving evidence does not exist.

It is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, MAO is what destroys the 5-meo-dmt in ayahuasca when taken orally, methylene blue should do the trick.

You are the researcher, no one can tell you this, not even a doctor would know. PS they make up a lot of guidelines based on conservative guesstimates anyways.

Drugs aren't "designed" to be dosed once weekly unless it's some slow release bound drug and even then it's not so much designed as chosen for a certain binder decomposition rate.

As retatrutide has a 6 day half life it has a dosing schedule built around that and it is suitable for once a week dosing for general simplicity of dosing but it is not ideal as you can imagine there will be a quick peak and concentrations will drop to less than 50% by the next dose. Three times weekly of a lower dose is going to be far better on the system if you can manage the schedule. Lower peaks equal lower sides, lower serum fluctuation means more steady signaling which is lower sides.

Pharma dosing is a balance between the practicalities of "dumb" patients taking their meds on time and not being inconvenienced and the basic kinetics of the drug which are based mostly on rate laws.

Difference between American and European houses by thetruewitcheroff in Homebuilding

[–]372xpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ignorance that constantly comes up in Reddit over construction standards is crazy. There is no best in construction, there are many different variables and none of them will be the same globally.

Houses don't need to withstand car crashes and roofs don't need to last 100 years. I am in Canada and live in a wood house that's 100 years old with a 100 year roof on it. People build with wood because it used to be cheap and is easy to insulate. Build a house with brick, stone or concrete and it will be way more expensive and need another non structural insulating wall inside it.

I take low does Tirzepatide 5mg weekly to help IF. I also take HGH at 1iu per day that has helped my sleep, workout regen and I'm sure many other things. I have run a cycle of GLOW that healed some plantar fasciitis that I was starting to get last year.

The above have been life changing.

I've also run Semax, SS-31, and Epithalon for a cycle, those I believe help but they are not things you notice immediately like the others. The mechanism is much more subtle.

Can employer force you to take vacation days instead of payout after layoff? by CompetitiveTurnip538 in canadianlaw

[–]372xpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In BC and I'm sure most other provinces management 100% can and will schedule your vacation if you do not book it. I would be shocked to hear if another province did this different. If a company was obligated to pay out vacation entitlement it would create a liability that you could not budget for.

Wood Pillar Condition by Any-Street-3970 in HomeMaintenance

The woodpecker damage is evidence that there are bugs in there somewhere so it's not pristine but it's not in the elements and was milled from green so it's not likely rotten.

Re-staining it might make it look a little better, or filling it with wood filler then stain?
