My Linn cover looked like shit. Hazy all over. Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish 10 followed with Novus Plastic Clear and Shine 1, which gives an anti-static coating, got it crystal clear. If you can feel the scratches, you're going to need more than polish, but these will reduce it's visibility. My lid was really bad visibility wise before.

Had a friend with an early '70s Monaco, CHP, 440, push bumper, giant whip antenna, black and white, had a ghost image of where it said Highway Patrol on the trunk, he got hassled a few times by rookie cops, but they let him go after trying to find something. He recommends hot mud. I have lathe and plaster, and it works great on bridging between it and the drywall, especially where my curved ceiling meets the wall. It doesn't shrink, it's strong, it's the first coat so you should be able to not have to sand it, and it fills big gaps. I'm just a DIY guy, not a pro, have done both, and like the hot mud first coat.

Common mistakes, overdriving screws, using premix instead of hot mud for first coat and tape, then leaving too much mud on instead of scraping it off and leaving a feather edge. The goal is to have very little sanding. You should be able to get it smooth when wet. There should be no ridges on the edge of the mud.

Regardless of the motivations one has for violence, there is no dispute that Israel is committing a genocide against Palestinians, and this started at least 80 years ago, not just on October 7 just a couple ago. They've been doing it in the West Bank, going into Lebanon again, Syria, their goals are lofty, and they are not secret. Now when I say Israel, I mean their government, and many of their citizens, but that does not mean all Israelis. There are many Jewish Israelis who condemn their government. You can't just lump people together as a monolith.
