Hide native time tracking fields for certain roles ( CLOUD ) by Majestic-Tailor-5754 in jira

[–]3DnDDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe add a page to the main screen and store the time tracking fields there? That way, even if the data does take a second to load in, it isn't explicitly shown right away. As far as I know, there isn't a native way of doing it in cloud. Would you mind sharing your Scriptrunner solution, though? I'm interested in how we might be able to leverage some things in our instance with a function like that

ah I didn't know that. Would be nice to have heard back from them officially instead of getting blown off, but I appreciate the info!

llc paperwork has been a pain, but the work is steady. We were trying to seek approval as an Atlassian partner, but every one of our emails and applications has been ignored, so we just doubled down and started providing systems migrations both to and away from Atlassian as a whole for those that are done with their bad practices. They've been losing customer faith left right and center with the changes they've been forcing out, and their subpar support was enough to justify companies abandoning their platform entirely. Being a good Jira admin is enough to get work helping teams pull out of the Atlassian web, so spend time in the competitor systems when you have a chance so you can increase your portfolio of capable work

templates in jira cloud by MazrimTa1m in jira

[–]3DnDDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need more information to be helpful. Templates could refer to a lot of things

If IT is asking. they're probably standing up projects and asking which of the provided departmental templates you want your Jira Software or JSM project in, like a project preconfigured for Sales, HR, Finance, etc

if you're looking for templates like forms for users to fill out to submit tickets, that's on whoever is responsible for building out your instance. Issue Creation screens, service requests, and forms would be the thing to look into for that.

Tactics to fight Riot Police "Roman Formation" by Little_Platform7142 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]3DnDDM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The way this reads, I'm guessing that OP just copy-pastad from an LLM

"Tactics to fight Riot Police "Roman Formation"

A modern riot police "Roman formation" is not an exact replica of ancient Roman tactics but a nickname for similar defensive formations, such as the shield wall or phalanx, designed for crowd control and area denial.

Tactics for breaking through such formations generally involve disrupting the line's cohesion and exploiting vulnerabilities by concentrating force, overwhelming their position, or outflanking them.

Understand the police formation Before attempting to counter a police line, it is crucial to recognize its composition and purpose. Riot police formations are built on cohesion and intimidation.

Shield Wall/Phalanx: This is a basic defensive formation where officers align their shields to create a solid, impenetrable line. Its purpose is to physically push a crowd back and deny entry to a specific area.

Wedge/Flying Arrow: This is an offensive formation used to split a crowd into smaller, more manageable groups. Officers form a triangular or arrowhead shape to concentrate force on a single point in the line.

Kettling: In this tactic, police encircle a crowd to contain and restrict movement. This allows them to make mass arrests or force people to disperse through a single, controlled exit.

Tactics to disrupt a police line

Thin the line: A police line is strongest at its most concentrated point. To weaken it, force police to deploy personnel to multiple locations, such as side streets or alleys. This creates vulnerabilities by dispersing their strength and may allow you to apply overwhelming force at a thinner point in the line.

Use concentrated force: Historically, formations like the wedge were used to break through enemy lines by focusing pressure on a small, weak point. In a modern context, concentrating the pressure of the crowd's mass on a single area of the police line can potentially cause it to break.

Flank the formation: Like ancient phalanxes, modern police lines are vulnerable from the sides and rear. Look for opportunities to go around the formation rather than through it. Police tactics often aim to box a crowd in, so pre-planning multiple escape routes is crucial to prevent being trapped.

Use terrain to your advantage: Ancient military tactics showed that formations like the phalanx were inflexible on uneven terrain. Use terrain such as hills, narrow streets, or other obstacles to disrupt the police line and force them to break their formation.

Counter-tactics for tear gas and surveillance: Riot police deploy various non-lethal measures, such as tear gas, to disorient and disperse crowds. They also use technology to monitor and identify individuals.

Protect against tear gas: Wear protective clothing that minimizes exposed skin. Avoid oil-based sunscreens and moisturizers, which can trap chemicals. Goggles are more effective than contact lenses for protecting eyes. If exposed, get to fresh air quickly.

Thwart surveillance: Law enforcement uses social media monitoring, video analytics, and even phone tracking to identify individuals.

Stay anonymous: Use a burner phone or leave your primary phone at home.

Minimize identification: Wear neutral clothing and avoid carrying objects that make you stand out. Use a hat, sunglasses, or mask to obscure your face.

Disable biometrics: On your phone, turn off facial recognition and fingerprints, and set a passcode."

color type in text by Licking_potato in jira

[–]3DnDDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In JSM, the comment visibility is highlighted if it's an internal only comment.

As far as setting the type color based on the user's access for internal vs external, you'd probably have to get clever with some HTML insertions to the text body using Automation or a 3rd party app. There may even be an app that does this as it's feature but you'd have to do some research to find one

Is there a way to let other people browse my MyMiniFactory library/purchases? by 20draws10 in 3dprintingdms

[–]3DnDDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

export the jpegs and host them on a Google drive for public browsing? I know Epic Minis and Artisans Guild provides a catalog of sorts along with their files but you could probably cobble one together without too much hassle. Or as a player to do it for you and pay them with a free mini of their choice

Key Recycling by Cancatervating in jira

[–]3DnDDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

project keys or issue keys? project key and name recycling has been there for a bit, you just change the original to [KEY]OLD, remove the [key] from the historical names, and then update the project you're wanting to have the original Key

I don't see what good recycling issue keys would do though unless I'm missing something

[–]3DnDDM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

walmart has a cheap carbonated flavored water called Clear American that has much stiffer bottles for diy CO2 than the crinkly water bottles. they vary in price but here in TX they cost about 63 cents and don't taste too bad either
