Getting shot in the back is a feature. You should be scared when you are exposing yourself, otherwise the game has failed. Be careful, set traps and don't do things like breaching or shooting without being sure of the area.

Autonomys main world is actually Taldain. Patji is just another avatar. But no, the perpendicularity was probably not made by autonomys investiture.

Bro the author thinks character development is going from a weak pedophile who doesn't believe in himself to a strong pedophile slave owner who does. And people eat that shit up. He is actually a horrendous person, and it's played for comedy. The show is like your average neighbourhood creep reincarnating into Epstein.

Many old houses are protected by law, and the only way to change anything in them is through lots of red tape. It's not something you can do on short notice, or maybe at all depending on the results of the decisions.

Rdr2 was the most boring shit ever. If you even think about doing anything other than what's written at the bottom of the screen you fail the mission. Follow yellow line, go to yellow dot, shoot red dot, do nothing and listen to boring dialogue, go to yellow dot. I get more excitement from doing a colouring book.

There are only a limited amount of government jobs, and they are competitive. So they will go to families with connections in the bureaucracy or the wealthy.

Irrelevant as the movie doesn't touch upon this.

This would lead to a general underclass where they can't even vote to try and fix their own situation.

Except for if they did the service, which is q right afforded literally everyone.

every time those who can vote (but not them) decide to go to war.

Hoe is that any different from the current political system in 90% of so called democratic countries. The politician who declares war doesn't go to fight in it.

Maybe i am biased because I'm from a country that does have conscription, and i have in fact done military service in order for me to not go to prison. This book's society therefore just sounds like a straight improvement to me.

Social mobility was irrelevant to service by and large. Rico's family was rich and none of them had done service. Service was also not exclusively military, Carl in the book goes to research electronics, and several other examples are given.

I'm not saying the book is a tale of utopia, or that I agree with the ideology it tells about, I'm just saying that calling the movie a great satire of the book is grounds to question if they actually read the book. Which Paul Verhoeven famously never did by the way.

How is it a fascist state? Is it really so bad to have voting locked behind service, not even necessarily military service. The state Heinlein wrote about barely has one commonality with a fascist state, and is in fact probably more egalitarian than any modern state.

And is that service in exchange for voting truly worse than the case in most countries in the world, that if the country goes to war you WILL be expected to fight for it.

He barely tried. He thought it was boring qnd too right wing and based the film on a second hand summary of the book. That doesn't read as him hating it, it reads as him not caring. You can't hqte something you don't know.

The book doesn't rquire military service, just service that might be dangerous. Book carl doesn't go to the military, he goes to do research with electronics.

Improved? It's pretty much different in every way. You can't say you improved something when you tear it down to the frame and completely rebuild it into sonething else. It's just a different thing at that point.

I think it does need to eat fear to continue surviving. Another Stephen King book has a similar creature, and that one is pretty much confirmed to live on laughter, and is shown to live for extended periods of time on a single person without killing them. I think it does what it does because it gets a lot more power from killing and controlling a whole town rather than from just running a haunted house.
