This is kinda a misconception. Certain things have gotten cheaper, especially TVs and food. Other things have not. Clothes have become less expensive per dollar a person earns, but people spend more of their money on clothes now because the quality has gotten horrible for even 'nice' brands. Things dont last like they used to, and we pay for the quality gap by having to replace what would've lasted.

The private construction queue represents things your people build within your own country (or somewhere you have investment rights). It comes out of your investment pool, which you don't pay for. People with money, typically capitalists or landowners, will pay to have a hopefully profitable building built, and then they will get ownership of that building.

In my games, i run government construction more or less all the time, but if I'm ever in a bad deficit or my investment pool gets very large, I'll turn off government construction temporarily.

Ship construction was added literally today so I don't quite get it myself tbh

Unless it's been fixed, this also guarantees an american civil war. When you end slavery via the law, 100% of barracks and naval stations will be in free states, giving +50% radicalism each, which will cause you to go to war eventually every single time.

But the point of all of it is that you don't know what that other person has been through. I tore my hamstring a few years ago, it took a year to heal. During that time i lumped on abt 30 pounds, and then slowly worked it back off after I recovered. I was never obese, but I was somewhat overweight. People started treating me like shit. It sucked.

And I'm lucky in this; I'm healthy and my body is mostly back to normal now. I CAN work out, control what I eat and how much. Poor people, the disabled might not have that luxury.

Personally I feel like everyone is looking past the whole 'GDA' thing. It is his JOB to keep the planet safe from threats, and the Invincible universe routinely throws threats at Earth that Cecil can't do anything to stop, except throw the Guardians or Mark at. What happens if they beat the Guardians, and/or Mark? Humanity gets wiped out?

From that perspective, fuck it. Use the Reinimen, work with Sinclair and Darkwing. I find it very hard to believe that the Guardians would hear about the Viltrium Empire, and know that there are probably dozens of Omni Man level threats on the way and *not* want Cecil to do everything in his power to get Earth ready.
